2015 Relay For Life - Kingaroy
The South Burnett's annual Relay For Life fundraiser will be held on the main oval at the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Steet, Kingaroy from 3:00pm this afternoon right through until 9:00am tomorrow morning. This year a record 46 teams will be taking part in the all-night walk-a-thon in a bid to raise more than $140,000 for the Queensland Cancer Council, which would bring the South Burnett's Relay for Life fundraising total over the last decade to more than $1 million - a remarkable achievement for a region of little more than 32,000 people. Spectators are very welcome to come along and cheer the walkers on as they march around the ring (and around... and around again...). The Relay's annual Candlelight Ceremony - held in remembrance of friends and relatives lost to cancer - will be held about 6:30pm this evening. There'll also be food and drink stalls in the grounds if you get hungry or thirsty.
Wooroolin Community Markets
The Wooroolin Community Markets will be held inside the Wooroolin QCWA Rooms on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin from 6:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The markets run on the 2nd Saturday of each month and stall fees are just $5. More details? Phone Mellissa on (07) 4164-1249.

CANCELLED: The Kingaroy RSPCA will be holding an Outdoor Movie Night in Kingaroy's Memorial Park at 6:00pm this evening as a fundraiser for their animal shelter. The feature movie will be the family comedy "Penguins Of Madagascar" (you can see a trailer above) and there'll be popcorn, chocolate, hot drinks and slushies available to purchase in the grounds - just BYO blanket or chairs to sit on. Tickets are $13 for adults, $7 for children (15yo or younger) or $35 for a family pass (2 adults 2 children). Everyone is welcome! Note: The RSPCA cancelled this movie night at short notice because of a conflict with Relay For Life and neglected to tell us. South Burnett Online apologises to any reader who was inconvenienced by this. The movie will now be screened on November 21.
