Biodiversity Revegetation and Restoration Project - Cushnie
The first day of a three-day, federally-funded biodiversity revegetation and restoration project will be held at Cushnie today. The organisers' aim for the weekend is to give participants an opportunity to learn the principal methods for the repair of degraded ecosystems and the provision of long-term soil fertility in any application, climate or soil type using readily available waste material, as well as get hands-on experience at doing it. They'll be exploring and experimenting with nature’s processes and systems of natural vegetation to prepare a degraded site for a future planting of diverse native flora. Interested people are very welcome to get involved, and you can obtain more details and the location of the site by phoning (0418) 895-656 or by emailing them.
