The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding a special public meeting at the Blackbutt Community Hall in Coulson Street at 6:00pm this evening to explain to local tradies, equipment suppliers and general suppliers how to get themselves on the council's Preferred Suppliers List. Under the requirements of the Local Government Act, the SBRC creates a new list every two years and they use this list to source quotes for their purchasing requirements. The Council spends about $22 million a year on goods and services and they're keen to see as many local tradies and suppliers on the list as possible. The meeting (which will take about an hour) explains the process. You can also read more about it on this page of our website. More details? Phone the SBRC on 1300-789-279. Note: Two other similar meetings will also be held at Nanango (4th) and Kingaroy (5th). POSTPONED: Because of road closures throughout the region caused by the Australia Day weekend floods, these meetings have been postponed until normal road access is restored.
