Fun Bowls Day - Kingaroy
A Fun Bowls Day will be held at the Kingaroy Bowls Club in Youngman Street today as a fundraiser for the newly-formed South Burnett Parkinson's Support Group. The day will be open to ladies and mens teams of 4 players and there'll be lots of prizes and lots of fun. Games get underway at 9:30am. More details from the bowls club on (07) 4162-1404.
Dennis Sankey Duo - Kingaroy
The Dennis Sankey Duo will be performing at the Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 7:30pm to 11:30pm this evening. Admission is free. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Saturday Cricket
South Burnett cricketers will be playing the latest rounds of this year's 2012-13 cricket season at a variety of locations around the region today (round 8 for A grade, round 11 for B grade). In A-grade, the Murgon Crusaders will play Kingaroy RSL at the Murgon Sportsgrounds, while the Wooroolin Warriors will take on the Nanango Scorpions at Lyle Vidler Ocal in Kingaroy. And in B-grade, Barambah will play the Kumbia Rattlers at Murgon State High School; Kingaroy RSL will play the Wooroolin Warriors at Taabinga State School; Wondai Wolves will play the Murgon Colts at the Wondai Sportsgrounds; and Murgon Diggers will play Murgon Magic at the Murgon Sportsgrounds. All matches are one day games and get underway at 12:00 noon. Spectators and supporters are very welcome!
Stolzenberg Brothers - Wondai
The evergreen Stolzenberg Brothers will be performing at the Wondai RSL from 7:00pm until late this evening. Admission is free. More details from the club on (07) 4168-5297.
Free Children's Holiday Workshop - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be holding a free children's holiday workshop from 9:009am to 12:00 noon this morning. There'll be mask-making, collage, illustration and multimedia activities available. More details? Phone the Gallery on (07) 4168-5926.
Barambah Shed Men Meeting - Greenview
The Barambah Shed Men will be holding their 20th meeting at Wooroolin vet Steve Kelly's farm shed at 587 Tingoora-Chemsford Road, Greenview from 5:00pm to around 9:00pm this evening. Things will get underway at 5:30pm with a demonstration of horse-breaking and bridleless riding by Alex Kelly, who's been running horsemanship clinics in the South Burnett for the last twelve months. And he'll be followed by guest speaker Dan Kelly, the Vice President for Humanitarian and Emergency Affais with World Vision. The $10 admission includes a BBQ meal, dessert, soft drinks, coffee & tea. All men are welcome and under-15s can get in for free - but to assist with catering, an RSVP would be greatly appreciated. Friendship Markets - Kingaroy
The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at the Senior Citizens Centre in Avoca Street, Kingaroy from 6:30am to around 12:00pm today. Memorial Park Working Bee
A working bee will be held at Memorial Park in Haly Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to around 8:30am this morning to lay a new power cable for this year's Wine & Food In The Park Festival. Volunteers are welcome and you should bring a shovel if you'd like to help.
