Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Art Gallery will be officially opening its first exhibition for 2013 - "From The Artists' Verandah" - at 6:00pm this evening. The new exhibition features works by Nanango artists Megan Cridland, Joy Hastings, Leasa Bailey, Barbara Larsen, Danielle Lawrence, Wanda Lucas, Jan Woods and Cherie Sibley, and several of these will be in attendance tonight. Boutique Markets - Nanango
Nanango's Boutique Markets will be held in the courtyard of the South Burnett Energy Centre at 41 Henry Street, Nanango from 8:00am to 1:30pm today. These new markets feature handmade products such as cakes, jams and relishes, woodwork and knitwear along with plants, glass work, and framed and unframed photography, and they're held on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. Business Breakfast With Helen Gluer - Kingaroy
Queensland Under Treasurer Helen Gluer will be a special guest speaker at a business breakfast being held at Accents Restaurant in Alford Street, Kingaroy at 7:00am this morning. Ms Gluer - a former CEO at Tarong Energy - knows the South Burnett very well, and has been brought to the area by Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington to discuss how the region can benefit from new State Government initiatives. Tickets are $20 per head and can be booked by phoning Mrs Frecklington's electoral office on (07) 4162-1381 by Wednesday January 9. Karaoke Night - Proston
The South Burnett Lively 50s & 60s Singles Social Group will be attending a Karaoke Night at the Golden Spurs Hotel at 25 Blake Street, Proston from 7:00pm until late this evening. Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
