Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers Muster - Boondooma
The fifth day of the 6-day Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers & Heritage Muster will be held at Boondooma Homestead at 8262 Durong-Mundubbera Road, Boondooma today. This popular annual campout week features lots of Australia's top bush balladeers and poets (52 will be appearing at the Muster this year) along with walk-up artists. The Muster routinely attracts 700 to 800 caravanners plus day-trippers, and in addition to bucketloads of non-stop great music there'll also be great camp oven meals, a licensed bar, BBQ, stalls, displays of vintage cars and engines, photography and historical items. Tickets are $95 for the full six days of the festival, or $15 if you just want a day pass for today only (children under 15 are free). Bush camping is available on-site and can be booked by phoning the Homestead's caretakers on (07) 4168-0159. You can also get a full program of this year's Muster in PDF format by clicking here.
Maidenwell Bull Ride
The annual Maidenwell Bull Ride will be held behind the Maidenwell Hotel from 6:30pm until late tonight (it was rescheduled from its normal Easter Sunday slot due to rain). There'll also be live music at the Maidenwell Hotel performed by the South Burnett's favourite Indigenous band Muddy Flats, and free camping and hot showers are available in the hotel's grounds too. If you enjoy rodeo action the Bull Ride is always a really great night out, and the Flats are worth seeing at any time. More details? Phone the hotel on (07) 4164-6133.
Hivesville Country Markets

Queensland's premier women's soccer teams SWQ Thunder and Sunshine Coast Fire will be playing at Tom Alford Oval at the end of Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy today as part of the PS4 WNPL. The U13s girls teams will kick off at 10:00am, followed by the U15s girls teams at 11:30am, and then the senior women's teams at 1:00pm. And later, at 3:00pm, Wests men will play the Panthers in 2nd Division, followed by the 1st Division teams at 5:00pm (both of these games were postponed from Saturday because a number of the Panthers' key players were helping out at the Nanango Show). A bar and canteen will be operating and admission is free.
Manumbar Campdraft
The second and final day of the Manumbar Campdraft will be held at the Manumbar Campdrafting Grounds from 6:30am onwards today, kicking off with the continuation of yesterday's Jack Perrett Memorial Novice Draft for $1260 in prize-money over two rounds. Local cafes like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Cafe will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas (as well as Seafood Sunday at Lyrics licensed restaurant - see entry above), and walking trail maps will be available from both cafes, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a walk through the adjoining National Park.
