St John's Open Day - Kingaroy
St John's Lutheran School at 84-94 Ivy Street, Kingaroy will be holding an Open Day from 9:00am this morning to allow parents to tour the school with staff, see the facilities it offers and enjoy a great morning tea. St John's provides classes from Prep to Year 9, and today's Open Day is aimed at parents who may be looking for Prep for their children next year, which would be open to any child born between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012. Murgon Rotary Club Meeting

Positive Farming Footprints Workshop - Nanango
Grazier, environmental advocate and 2014 RIRDC Rural Women's Award winner Pip Job will be holding a Positive Farming Footprints workshop at the Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango from 8:30am (workshop starts at 9:00am) until 3:00pm today. The workshop is jointly sponsored by the Burnett Mary Regional Group, AgForce, QRRRWN and the Red Earth Community Foundation and it will focus on assisting family farming businesses to identify the impact of social barriers on their business. Participants will learn how to identify different social barriers, how they impact family wellbeing and business performance, and how to identify your own strengths and weaknesses. South Burnett Regional Council Meeting - Kingaroy
The new South Burnett Regional Council will be holding its first general meeting since the election at the Glendon Street Council Chambers in Kingaroy at 9:00am this morning. Meetings are open to the public.
CPR Awareness Night - Tansey
The Murgon Local Ambulance Committee in partnership with BIEDO will be holding a free CPR Awareness Evening for a maximum 25 participants at Tansey Hall at 28 Tansey Hall Road, Tansey at 6:30pm this evening. The purpose of the evening is to give community members of all ages the basic knowledge, skills and confidence they need to act in an emergency situation until paramedics arrive. Kingaroy Carers Group Meeting
The Kingaroy Carers Group will be holding their regular third Wednesday of the month meeting at the Kingaroy RSL's Function Room in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 10:30am to 12:30pm this morning. The group is open to anyone who acts as a carer. It's designed to provide a social and networking outlet for carers, who often find themselves isolated by their role. QCWA Twilight Branch Meeting - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy QCWA Twilight Branch will be holding their third Wednesday of the month meeting at the QCWA Rooms next to Kingaroy RSL in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to around 8:00pm tonight (when it will conclude with a light supper). The Twilight Branch is a new branch of the QCWA which is designed for working women and busy mums. It meets in the evenings and is separate from the traditional Kingaroy branch (which meets during the day). The Blackbutt Camera Club will be holding a meeting at the Uniting Church Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 4:00pm to 8:00pm this evening. The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays of every month except December and January. The first Wednesday is devoted to practical photography (bring your own camera and equipment) and the third Wednesday to a review of those images and talks and tips on software (bring your laptop), followed by a committee meeting at 7:00pm. Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers Muster - Boondooma
The first day of the 6-day Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers & Heritage Muster will be held at Boondooma Homestead at 8262 Durong-Mundubbera Road, Boondooma today. This popular annual campout week features lots of Australia's top bush balladeers and poets (52 will be appearing at the Muster this year) along with walk-up artists. The Muster routinely attracts 700 to 800 caravanners plus day-trippers, and in addition to bucketloads of non-stop great music there'll also be great camp oven meals, a licensed bar, BBQ, stalls, displays of vintage cars and engines, photography and historical items. Tickets are $95 for the full six days of the festival, or $15 if you just want a day pass for today only (children under 15 are free). Nanango Country Quilters & Crafts Group
The Nanango Country Quilters And Crafts group meet every Wednesday at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango between 9:00am to 2:00pm. Members can get to pursue a wide variety of crafts at these informal gatherings and the $3 meeting fee includes morning tea (but BYO cup and lunch). There's also usually a raffle as well. Seniors Having A Ball - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding a "Seniors Having A Ball" exercise class from 8:30am to 9:30am this morning. The program is designed to address the issues that many have with ageing and it's not just for seniors! It provides light exercise to keep the heart and joints moving, improving coordination and mobility. It also provides a beginner platform to start any fitness activity on. As well as physical fitness, it also has a fun social atmosphere too. The class fee is just $4 for PCYC members or $7 for non-members. More details? Man Cave - Kingaroy
The Sister Dolores Carroll Training Centre at St Mary's Catholic College at 10 Kent Street in Kingaroy will be transforming into a "Man's Cave" between 6:30pm and 10:00pm tonight. Qualified instructors will be demonstrating the use of all the equipment in the centre - great stuff like lathes, drills etc - and if you're a man interested in restoring or manufacturing wood or metal products and socialising with other men who have similar interests, then this could be the place for you! Wednesday Night Touch Footy - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Touch Football Association will be holding their regular Wednesday night touch footy competition at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy (ie Red Ants Oval) this evening. Women's teams will play from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, and men's teams from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Playing fees are $2 and spectators are very welcome!
Wednesday Night Judo - Murgon
