The Show's official opening will occur in the main ring at 11:00am and be followed by the Grand Parade. There'll also be a Giant Fireworks Show at 7:00pm that will light up the night sky. The 8th annual Wondai Firies Charity Golf Day - a fundraiser for RACQ CareFlight Rescue and the QFES "Bike For Burns" charity bike ride - will be held at the Wondai Country Club on the Bunya Highway today. This is a fun social event for golfers and non-golfers alike with a 10:00am shotgun start, and a BBQ will be running all day too if you get peckish. Dibley Live And Big Cats - Nanango
The Nanango Theatre Company will be presenting the second perfomance of their latest productions "Dibley Live - The Vicar Of Dibley" and "Big Cats" at the Nanango Playhouse at the corner of Elk and George Streets in Nanango at 7:00pm tonight (play begins at 7:30pm). "Dibley Live" - as might be expected - is a stage adaptation of one of the BBC's most popular TV comedies, and the audience can look forward to meeting many old friends including the dotty Verger Alice Tinker, glum Parish Council chairman David Horton, Hugo Horton, Owen Newitt and Frank Pickle, amongst others. "Big Cats", by contrast, is gentle story acted with warmth and tenderness that focuses on Lily, who has spent all her married life in the same two-up, two-down council house. Her husband Joe plays a very important role in her life, and the audience gradually realises just how important it is as the play unfolds. Tickets - which include supper at intermission - are $20 for adults and $15 for pensioners or students. They can be purchased in advance from the Nanango Visitor Information Centre in Henry Street, Nanango, or at the door before each performance, if not sold out. Note: Two further performances will be held at the same time and venue next Friday and Saturday nights.
Kingaroy Junior Motorcycle Club Race Day

Saturday Rugby League - Cherbourg, Wondai and Kingaroy
There won't be much A-grade rugby league played in the region this weekend, but there will be lots of junior games and one senior match. In Cherbourg, the junior Hornets will play the junior Murgon Mustangs at Jack O'Chin Oval with U6s/U8s playing at 10:00am; U10s at 11:00am; and U12s at 1:00pm. This will be followed at 2:00pm with an U14s clash between the junior Hornets and Nanango's Stags; and then at 3:00pm this weekend's sole A-grade game between the senior Hornets and Stags. In Wondai, the U6s/U8s Wolves will play the Central Burnett Brumbies at the Wondai Sportsgrounds at 9:00am; the U10s at 10:00am; and the U12s at 11:00am. And in Kingaroy, the U6s/U8s Red Ants will play Nanango juniors at TJ O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street at 9:00am; U10s at 10:30am; and the U12s at 11:30am. Following this, there'll be an U14s clash between the Wondai Wolves and Kingaeroy Red Ants at 12:30pm; and then an U16s game between a combined Nanango and Wondai team against the Kingaroy Whites. Canteens will be operating at all three grounds and spectators are very welcome!
Saturday AFL - Kingaroy
If you're an Aussie Rules fan, you should get along to Lyle Vidler Oval (just next to Beangrowers in Youngman Street) today. The South Burnett Saints will be playing the Toowoomba Tigers in both the men's and women's divisions, and it promises to be a ferocious pair of matches. The Saints' men's team have had two back-to-back victories over the Highfields Lions and Dalby Swans to start their season, and the Tigers are currently ranked pretty highly themselves. So their clash at 2:50pm should produce a very memorable game. And the Saints women's division, who only began their own season last week, will be keen to reverse their defeat at the hands of the Swans in front of a home crowd. A bar and canteen will be operating and spectators are very welcome!
Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
