South Burnett and Cherbourg On Show
South Burnett and Cherbourg On ShowSouth Burnett And Cherbourg On Show will be running all across the South Burnett and Cherbourg from Friday, October 4 to Monday, October 7. More than 40 different events are being held throughout the long weekend. Many are free, many others are heavily subsidised, and all of them are a lot of fun. They cover everything from art exhibitions to tours, wining and dining to family fun days, and sporting competitions through to openings and reunions. Art Exhibition Opening - Blackbutt
The Friends Of Cultcha will be opening their latest monthly exhibition at the Blackbutt Art Gallery Space in the Archie Muir Centre in Hart Street, Blackbutt at 7:00pm this evening. This month's exhibition will feature works by Blackbutt artist Prue Cumes and - as usual - tonight's opening will be accompanied by wine, cheese and all the fun of a Friends' event. Admission is $8 (with all proceeds going to Blackbutt charities) and there'll be a lucky door raffle, but admission to the exhibition during the remainder of the month is free. The show will remain on display from 8:30am to 4:30pm Mondays to Fridays and 9:00am to 12:00 noon every second Saturday until the end of the month.
Wondai QCWA Meeting
The Wondai branch of the QCWA will be holding their regular first Monday of the month meeting at the QCWA Rooms in Mackenzie Street, Wondai at 10:00am this morning. All interested people are welcome.
Wondai Swimming Club Meeting
The Wondai Swimming Club will be holding their regular Monday Club Night at the Wondai Swimming Pool in Mackenzie Street, Wondai from 6:00pm this evening. New members are very welcome - and this year, the pool is heated as well! More details? Phone Lainie on (0411) 024-834.
Hivesville QCWA Meeting

Cards & Bowls Afternoon - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be holding their regular Monday afternoon indoor bowls and cards competitions at their centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy (opposite Super IGA) from 1:00pm to around 4:00pm today. Nanango Art Society Art Fest
The Nanango Art Society will be holding their first Art Fest daily through until Sunday, October 13. The Art Fest will feature 3 major art competitions (a mural, a sculpture and an art competition) and there'll also be daily workshop, art and sculpture activities and demonstrations. Maidenwell Folk Music Gathering
The third (and final) day of the three-day Maidenwell Folk Music Gathering will be held in and around the Maidenwell Hotel from 8:00am this morning (when activities will kick off with poetry recitals and barista-prepared coffees) through until late this afternoon. Apart from a wide selection of walk-up folk music being performed on the hotel's verandahs, there'll also be a small number of market stands featuring anything from photography to Aboriginal art, face painting to bamboo and flute-making and cigar box art; and also several music-related workshops too. There's free camping with gold coin donation hot showers available in the nearby Maidenwell sportsgrounds, and admission to the Gathering is totally free as well. More details? Coffee, Scones & A Little Bit More - Inverlaw
Mulanah Gardens at Deep Creek Road in Inverlaw will be holding a Sunday "Coffee, Scones & A Little Bit More" get together from 10:00am to 4:00pm today. You can relax in the beautiful gardens with a picturesque view of the nearby Bunya Mountains while having the perfect coffee and something light to eat. Mulanah Gardens is a pleasant 16km drive from Kingaroy along the Bunya Highway towards Kumbia (follow the signs from the highway).
