Back To School
The final term of the 2012 school year begins today and all school-age children are required to return to classes this morning. Term 4 will conclude on Friday 16-Nov-12 (Year 12s); Friday 30-Nov-12 ( for year 10s and 11s); and Friday 14-Dec-12 for everyone else. Motorists should take note that reduced speed limits around school grounds apply from today and they can face a steep fine for exceeding them - so drive slowly.
Nanango Show Society Meeting
The Nanango Show Society will be holding its regular second Monday of the month meeting at the Showgrounds in Cairns Street, Nanango at 7:30pm this evening. Wondai Swimming Club Sign On and Fun Club Night
The South Burnett's 2012-13 swimming season is just about to get underway, and the Wondai Swimming Club will be holding their annual Sign On Night at the Wondai Swimming Pool in Mackenzie Street, Wondai from 6:00pm onwards this evening. The first night of the season is always a fun night, but after this club nights will be run weekly every Monday evening. New members are very welcome - and this year, the pool is heated as well! Kingaroy Quota Club Meeting

KCCI Meet & Greet - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be holding their latest 6-weekly Meet & Greet at Hotondo Homes at 102 Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 5:30pm onwards this evening. Tonight's meeting will have a banking and business theme and will feature presentations from two local bank managers about what's happening in banking for business; and update from the South Burnett Regional Council about initiatives they're working on to lift the region's economy; and several short talks by other local businesses about promotions, offers and other initiatives they're running. Everyone is welcome and there's a $10 admission charge to tonight's meeting to cover the cost of drinks and nibbles. Monday Evening Bingo - Blackbutt
Bingo games will be held in the Blackbutt Community Hall on the D'Aguilar Highway at Blackbutt from 7:00pm this evening. There'll be 16 games overall as well as two continual jackpots. Everyone is welcome.
Cards & Bowls Afternoon - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be holding their regular Monday afternoon indoor bowls and cards competitions at their centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy (opposite Super IGA) from 1:00pm onwards today. Wondai SES Meeting
The Wondai SES will be holding their regular Monday night training meeting at the SES shed in McCord Street, Wondai between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. New members are very welcome and you can obtain more information about becomiong an SES volunteer by phoning Dean on (0409) 480-553
Meet The Councillors - Yarraman and Cooyar
Yarraman and Cooyar residents will be able to meet Toowoomba Regional Councillors and raise any issues of concern they might have at two separate public functions today. The first will be a free lunch that will be held at Heritage House at Miller Street, Yarraman at 1:00pm; and the second will be a free BBQ and community meeting at the Cooyar Hotel in Cooyar at 5:00pm. Both meetings are informal and everyone is welcome. Toowoomba councillors will also be taking the opportunity of the visit to familiarise themselves with Council facilities in the area.
