South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Inverlaw Hall Winter Dinner Ball
The annual Winter Dinner Ball will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 6:00pm until late tonight. The ball will begin with a dinner prepared by J.C. Catering and it will be served at 6:30pm. This will be followed by a great night of dancing with music supplied by Mystique, along with the crowning of the Winter Ball's Queen, King and Princess. There'll also be a Lucky Door prize, a money board and raffles. Dinner and dancing tickets for the Winter Ball are $50 per adult or $30 per student, and to help plan the catering they need to be booked by May 31. Community Resilience And Emergency Services Expo - Ballogie
The South Burnett Regional Council will be running a free Community Resilience And Emergency Services Expo at the Ballogie Rural Fire Brigade's shed at 12398 Chinchilla Wondai Road in Ballogie from 10:00am to 2:00pm today. The Expo will offer QFES demonstrations, a free BBQ, drinks and evacuation kit items to help prepare residents for emergencies. Everyone is welcome!
Wooroolin Community Markets
The Wooroolin Community Markets will be held inside the Wooroolin QCWA Rooms on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin from 6:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The markets offer stalls, a sausage sizzle, fresh produce, plants and crafts and are run on the 2nd Saturday of every month except January. Nanango Men's Shed
The Nanango Men's Shed at the corner of Mt Stanley Road and Heathermore Lane, Nanango will be open from 8:30am to around 12:30pm today for its regular Saturday get-together. Cent Auction - Nanango
A Cent Auction to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation's Breast Cancer Nurses will be held at Tara's Hall next to the Nanango Services Club in Henry Street, Nanango this morning. Doors will open at 11:30am and the auction will get underway at 1:00pm. Tickets are just $5 for adults - which includes a free sheet of tickets, a lucky door ticket and afternoon tea - or $2 for children (who also get a lucky door ticket and afternoon tea), and donations for the auction can be dropped off to Cr Jane Erkens' Nanango Real Estate office in Drayton Street from June 1st.
Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Mosaics Workshop - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery at 126 Haly Street in Kingaroy will be running a Mosaics Workshop led by mosaic artist Yvonne Ragonesi from 9:30am to 4:00pm today as part of its annual Queensland Winter Craft Festival. All materials and tools will be supplied as part of the $150 per head course fee (BYO lunch) and only a limited number of places are available. Yarraman Men's Shed

Yarraman Markets
The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (ie opposite Bendigo Bank) in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets are held on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Saturday each month and they feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls. Saturday Morning Tennis - Blackbutt

Saturday Rugby League - Kingaroy
The local rugby league competition will be played at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy today, with U6s to U12s matches running between 8:00am and 12:00 noon, followed by an U14s match between Cherbourg and Chinchilla at 12:10pm, and then an U17s match between the South Burnett Eagles and Toowoomba Souths at 1:10pm. After this, the first A-grade match of the day will be played between the Murgon Mustangs and Wondai Wolves at 2:00pm, followed by a clash between Kingaroy's Red Ants and the Nanango Stags at 4:00pm. A canteen will be operating in the grounds and today is also the club's annual Pink Day to raise money for cancer research, so you can expect a lot of pink-themed extra activities on the grounds. Spectators and supporters are very welcome!
Saturday AFL - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Saints AFL team will be back in action at Kingaroy’s Lyle Vidler Oval today, playing against the Toowoomba Tigers in all three grades. The U14s will take to the field at 11:00am, followed by the women's team at 12:45pm and then the men's team at 2:30pm. A bar and canteen will be operating and there's no admission. Spectators and supporters are very welcome! PS: A special feature of today's matches will be veteran senior player Keegan Wright's 100th game for the Saints - go Keegan!
Myles Dunn - Linville
Entertainer Myles Dunn will be performing at the Linville Hotel in George Street, Linville from 5:00pm to around 9:00pm tonight. The hotel's kitchen will also be open from 11:00am for lunch, dinner and snacks and there's free camping across the road or paid rooms at the hotel if you want to stay overnight. Everyone is welcome. The starting line is adjacent to the Roy Emerson Museum, off Bowman Road. Runners follow a course along the former railway line and the parkrun group is free to join.
