Charity Golf Open Day - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway south-west of the CBD will be holdi8ngs its annual Charity Golf Open Day today. Play will take the form of an 18-hole stableford for men and women with a GA handicap, with registrations at 10:00am and tee-off at 11:00am. There'll be lots of prizes on offer and all proceeds will assist the children's cancer charity Camp Quality. Green fees are just $27 (which includes a burger lunch) and everyone is welcome. Murgon Men's Shed
- The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Saturday AFL & Brooksy's Day - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Saints AFL teams will be marking Brooksy's Day today (in honour of former player Ben Brooks who died of cancer in 2022). Ben's parents will be presenting medals to the senior and junior players at today's round who they think display “courage, determination and a never-give-up attitude”. The action will get underway at Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy at 2:30pm when the Saints men's team take on the Warwick Redbacks. A bar and canteen will be operating in the grounds and spectators are very welcome.
Yarraman Men's Shed

Pottery Sculpture Workshop - Kingaroy
- As part of this year's Queensland Winter Craft Festival, the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street will be running a weekend-long Pottery Sculpture Workshop with potter John Marshall from 8:00am to 2:00pm today and tomorrow in the 1913 Council Chambers behind the Gallery. Pig On A Spit Night - Maidenwell
- The Maidenwell Hotel's popular monthly Pig On A Spit Night will be running from 6:00pm until late this evening. Popular local musician Chris Munro will be performing on the hotel's deck from 7:00pm to 11:00pm and guests can get stuck into more pork than they can poke a fork at, all served up with with roast potatoes, pumpkin, corn, peas, carrots, applesauce and gravy for $25 per head (chicken and beef options are available too) or $15 for U12s. Take 4 - Nanango
- The Nanango Theatre Company will be presenting the 2nd and 3rd performances of latest production "Take 4" (ie four one-act plays by different playwrights) at their theatre at the corner of Elk and George Streets, Nanango at 2:00pm this afternoon and again at 7:00pm tonight. Yarraman Markets
- The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (ie opposite Bendigo Bank) in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets are held on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Saturday each month and they feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls. Alcoholics Anonymous - Blackbutt
- Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA meets in Blackbutt in the small hall next to the church at the corner of Gladys and James streets from 1:30pm to 2:30pm every Saturday, with tea and coffee provided.
