Reserve Forces Day - Wondai
Today is Reserve Forces Day, which commemorates the two million-plus Australian men and women who've served in the ranks of the Army, Navy and Air Force Reserve since 1948 and also recalls the many thousands who served in the militia and other volunteer formations in the years prior to that. Wondai will be marking the event with a flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremony outside the former Wondai Shire Council chambers in Mackenzie Street at 10:00am, and then a parade which will march off at from the Post Office paddock at the northern end of Mackenzie Street at 11:00am. The Parade is open to anyone who served in the CMF or in the reserves of any of the three Service Arms at any time, as well as any Regulars or Nasho’s. Naturally, spectators are encouraged to come along and wave the flag to show their support! Wondai is the smallest centre in Australia to hold a Reserve Forces Day parade, but it's always well supported. Sunday Markets - Kilkivan

Country Music Afternoon - Yarraman
- A Country Music Arvo will be held at the Yarraman Community Hall in Browne Street, Yarraman at 1:00pm this afternoon. These regular monthly music get-togethers usually feature both guest and walk-up artists, and all funds raised are donated to worthy causes. Everyone is welcome! Blackbutt-Benarkin Garden Club Meeting
- The Blackbutt & Benarkin Garden Club will be holding their regular first Sunday of the month meeting at a member's garden in the Blackbutt-Benarkin area at 1:00pm this afternoon. Clydesdale State Junior Championships and Gelding Show - Kingaroy
- The Queensland branch of the Commonwealth Clydesdale Horse Society will be holding the second (and final) day of their Junior State Championships and Gelding Show at the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street today. Today's action will get underway at 9:00am with a gelding under saddle event, followed by a dressage display. Entry is free and anyone with an interest in the breed is very welcome.
Sunday Shooting - Wondai
- The Wondai Rifle Club will be holding a fullbore shoot over 300 yards at the Wondai Shooting Complex on Rifle Range Road at the end of Bramston Street from 9:00am this morning. New members are welcome.
