South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
National Seniors Trip To Taromeo Station
BOOKED OUT! The Murgon branch of National Seniors will be running a tour to Taromeo Station south of Blackbutt today. Taromeo was one of the earliest European settlements in the South Burnett and paved the way for the area's colonisation. Today's trip will explore this historic property and will also include an authentic camp oven-cooked lunch. A bus will depart Murgon at 8:00am and pick up along the route. Tickets for the trip are $41 per head all inclusive and anyone is welcome to come along (whether you're a National Seniors member or not) but you'll need to book by Monday, July 15th. The club's next trip is to the Sunshine Coast in September and it already has 40 bookings too. So if you want to go on that one, be quick!
Women's Shed - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Women's Shed will be open from 9:00am to 3:00pm today behind the Salvation Army's headquarters at 44 Alford Street in Kingaroy. The shed is open to all women who'd enjoy the companionship of other women while undertaking woodwork, metalwork or similar projects or who'd just enjoy a chat. More details? South Burnett Saints Training Night & Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Saints AFL Club will be holding their regular Thursday evening training sessions at Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy tonight. Juniors will train from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, and seniors from 5:45pm. Note: Tonight's training sessions will be followed by the club's monthly General Meeting at 7:30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Meet The Author - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Library in Glendon Street will be hosting a "Meet The Author" session from 10:00am to 2:00pm today with Nanango historian Liz Caffery, whose recently-released book "Reflections" records the images and stories surrounding the South Burnett's disastrous 2011 and 2013 floods. Guests can enjoy a coffee and chat with Liz and hear about some of the memorable flood experiences of people from our South Burnett community. A slideshow of 150 key images from the book will also be on display. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to come along.
St Joseph's Bingo - Murgon
St Joseph's Parish Hall in Angel Avenue, Murgon will be holding bingo games from 7:30pm this evening. There'll be $1000 in prizes on offer as well as a canteen and lucky bingo tickets. Proceeds will go to aid St Joseph's school and community works.
Taras Hall Bingo - Nanango
Bingo games will be held at Taras Hall immediately next to Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango at 10:00am this morning. Everyone is welcome!
Play 500 - Murgon
The Murgon Bowls Club in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding their regular Thursday morning 500 card games from 9:30am onwards this morning. Admission is $4.00 (which includes a cuppa) and new players are very welcome! More details? Phone (07) 4168-4971
Thursday Morning Zumba - Nanango
Zumba dance fitness classes will be held at the Nanango Skating Rink in George Street, Nanango at 9:00am this evening. The class fee is $5 and everyone is welcome.
Country Music Night - Nanango
An informal Country Music Night will be held at the Nansango Uniting Church in Gipps Street at 7:30pm tonight. The get-together is open to both spectators and performers, and the $2 entry fee includes supper. Everyone is welcome!
Wondai Wolves Training Night - Wondai
The Wondai Wolves RLFC will be holding their regular Thursday night training sessions at the Wondai Sportsgrounds off the Bunya Highway just north of the CBD this evening. Juniors train from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, followed by seniors at 6:00pm.
Gamblers Anonymous - Murgon

Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes with each other to help solve their common problems and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership, and A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution.
