Taromeo Country Music Club Social - Blackbutt
The Taromeo Country Music Club will be holding their latest bi-monthly Sunday social for 2013 at the Blackbutt Community Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 10:30am to around 4:30pm today. Entertainment will be provided by the very talented Taromeo Country Music Club and guest artists. There'll also be multi-draw raffles, a lucky door prize, a licensed bar, plenty of food and refreshments, a licensed bar and - of course! - lots of great country music and dancing. Admission is still only $5 with morning tea available for a slim $2 and lunch for $8, along with a bottomless cup of tea or coffee and free afternoon tea as well. Everyone is welcome! More details? Community Family Fun Day - Durong
- The Green Frog Girl Guides troop is holding a Family Fun Day from 11:00am today at the Durong Community Hall. There'll be demonstrations by the Rural Fire Brigade, rides in L'il Squirt, kids' games and a pig-on-the-spit barbecue. The day is being organised as a fundraiser to assist a local family who lost their home in a recent fire. There'll also be raffles, other prizes and giveaways by CROW-FM. Entry is free but meal tickets are $35 per family or $10 a head. The day is also being supported by the Durong South State School P&C and the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service.
Nanango Camera Club Meeting
Here's something different: The Nanango Camera Club will be holding its regular monthly meeting in the Long Hai Room of the Nanango RSL in Henry Street from 1:00pm to 4:00pm today, and photography expert Bob Britcher, from Ipswich, will be a special guest speaker. Bob will be going through his judging of “Animals, Birds and Insects” from the club's March competition, and will also be talk about Macro Photography, which is a subject the club hasn't touched on recently. This month's competition subject is "Action" and next month it's "Box of Goodies", so all keen shutterbugs are very welcome! More details? The markets offer a wide range of locally produced arts, crafts and and freshly harvested foodstuffs and everyone is welcome along!
