The 2022 Ride For Relay looks set to raise at least $25,000 for the South Burnett’s Relay For Life fundraising campaign for Cancer Council Queensland.

When the troupe of cyclists rolled back into the Kingaroy Showgrounds on Saturday morning, the online fundraising tally stood at $18,395.

However, ride organiser Jason Wyeth said there were still donated cattle to be sold in September which will push the total even higher and donations can also still be made online

All the cyclists made it home safely after their 380km ride, despite tackling some showers along the way which forced a small route re-adjustment on the last day.

The group left the Kingaroy Showgrounds with a support crew on Tuesday morning.

Their overnight stops were at Kumbia, Bell, the Bunya Mountains and Maidenwell.

The oldest rider was 82-year-old Jimmy Lydon, from Scarborough, who even successfully tackled the Bunya Mountains climb!

This is the second time that Jimmy has taken part in the fundraising ride, eager to return for more punishment after completing the challenge in 2019.
