A truck driver aged in his 50s and a primary school-aged boy suffered minor injuries in a truck crash at the top of the Blackbutt Range on Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to the incident on the D’Aguilar Highway, near the Blackbutt Creek Bridge east of Benarkin, at 9:57am.

The B-Double, loaded with cattle, tipped on its side.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the incident.

A QAS spokesperson said the man and boy were transported by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.

Unfortunately, many of the cattle involved in the incident were not so lucky.

Some were badly injured and euthanased at the site.

Traffic on the highway was blocked while emergency crews were present and the cattle removed.

The highway was then re-opened to one lane and fully re-opened by 6:00pm.
