South Burnett Women are looking for sponsors to assist with their 2019 Dr Ellen Mary Kent Hughes Memorial Scholarship.

The women’s group offers an annual bursary to women who are residents of the South Burnett region and who are embarking on tertiary studies.

The Ellen Mary Kent Hughes Memorial Scholarship provides $5000 to support the recipient of the bursary in her chosen area of study.

Expressions of interest have been invited from individuals, small business, corporate or community groups to support the next round of our bursary.

Sponsorship is $500 per bursary partner.

The Dr Ellen Mary Kent Hughes Memorial Scholarship was launched in 2016.

It honours Dr Ellen Mary Kent Hughes who became Queensland’s first female councillor when she was elected to the former Kingaroy Shire Council in 1923.
