Police have arrested a 35-year-old man at Widgee after a pipe bomb exploded in a State Forest near Glastonbury on Wednesday.
Police will allege the man was seen leaving the site of the explosion, which caused fire and smoke.
No injuries were reported.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Glastonbury Creek Road and Gympie-Woolooga Road.
The fire was extinguished before police arrived about 6:00pm.
A police spokesperson said that after investigations, a 35-year-old Deception Bay man was arrested at Widgee.
He has been charged with possessing a restricted weapon (pipe bomb) and dangerous conduct with a weapon (pipe bomb).
Police objected to bail and the man was due to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on Thursday (August 13).
Investigations are continuing.
