QCWA Younger Set Come & Try Day - Kingaroy
The QCWA Younger Set will be holding a "Come & Try Day" at the 1913 Kingaroy Shire Council Chambers (behind the Visitor Information Centre) in Haly Street, Kingaroy from 1:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. The event is open to all girls and young women, who'll get to enjoy a great afternoon tea and some funky activities to get a taste of what the QCWA Younger Set is all about. Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowling Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
Junior Soccer Sign-On - Kingaroy
Kingaroy Junior Soccer will be holding a sign-on today from 9:00am to 3:00pm today at the clubhouse in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy. There'll be a sausage sizzle and gear on sale. All re-registering players should register online before coming down and bring your roster/levy form with them. New players can register online or just come on down.
Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy
The Nimue Art Gallery at 6 King Street, Kingaroy (just next to the Carrollee Hotel) will be opening their new "Classes Of 2012 Exhibition" between 10:00am and 1:30pm today. The exhibition will feature works created by students who took part in art classes at the gallery last year, and a wide range of works executed in anything from oils to acrylics, and watercolours to coloured pens and pencils will be on display. Dance - Booie Hall
A Valentines Day Dance will be held at Booie Hall from 8:00pm until around 12:00am this evening. Music will be supplied by Mark's Music and there'll be the usual great supper, novelties and lucky door prize. Admission is $10 for adults or $5 for high school students and everyone is welcome! Wondai-Proston JRLFC Junior & Senior Sign On Day
The Wondai-Proston Junior Rugby League Football Club will be holding their Junior and Senior Sign-On Day at the Wondai Sports Grounds off the Bunya Highway north of Wondai's CBD from 2:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. The Wolves - South Burnett Premiers in 2011 - are seeking players of all ages. Training for all junior players will commence on Tuesday 26th and Thursday 28th February from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. PS: The club's main Sign-On Day will occur on Saturday 23rd February from 9:00am to 12:00 noon. Kingaroy Community Garden Meeting
The Kingaroy Community Garden group will be holding their first meeting for 2013 at the Pound Street community garden (just at the rear of the Senior Citizens Park) from 9:00am to 11:00am this morning. The community garden is a joint initiative of RHealth, BIEDO and the South Burnett Regional Council's Healthy Communities initiative, and it allows people interested in learning more about permaculture, soils, composting, worms, seed saving, insects and trees to jointly cultivate the community garden and share in the fresh produce that it produces. Anyone who'd like to get involved in this project is very welcome to come along (BYO chair, sun protection, water bottle, gardening gloves and closed-toe shoes) and the group meets roughly once a fortnight. Learn How To Play Bridge - Kingaroy
The second week of a 6-week course in How To Play Bridge will be held at Kingaroy's Artie Kerr Centre (the Department of Transport building) in Kingaroy Street from 9:30am to 11:30am this morning. The course is 100% free and new players are very welcome. More details? Phone Helen on (07) 4162-2128.
McPie Day - Blackbutt
The Blackbutt Bakery will be holding a "McPie Day" today as a fundraiser for the Blackbutt & Benarkin Aged Care Association. Mascot Petey The Pie will be on hand to entertain children, and $1 from every pie sold will go towards the BBACA. More details from the bakery on (07) 4170-0525.

Saturday Cricket
South Burnett cricketers will be playing the latest rounds of this year's 2012-13 cricket season at a variety of locations around the region today (round 10 for A grade, round 13 for B grade). In A-grade, Kingaroy RSL will play the Wooroolin Warriers at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy, while Murgon will play Nanango at the Murgon Sportsgrounds. And in B-grade, Kumbia will play Wondai; Colts will play Kingaroy RSL; Warriors will play Murgon Magic and Barambah will play Diggers, all at the usual venues. All matches are one day games and get underway at 12:00 noon. Spectators and supporters are very welcome!
Seafood Buffet - Murgon
Sakina's Seafood Buffet - which is held on the 2nd Saturday of each month - will be running at the Saleyard Cafe on Gayndah Road at Murgon at 6:30pm this evening. Ulysses Motor Cycle Club Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett's favourite motorcycle club, the Ulysses MC Burnett Branch (motto: "Grow old disgracefully") will be holding their regular 2nd Saturday of the month meeting at the Kingaroy Hotel-Motel at the corner of Haly Street and the Bunya Highway in Kingaroy from 9:00am this morning.
