RSPCA Pyjamas In The Park Night - Kingaroy
The South Burnett RSPCA will be holding their first-ever Pyjamas In The Park at the Kingaroy Cricket Club in Youngman Street, Kingaroy (just next to Beangrowers) from 6:00pm until late this evening as a fund-raiser. There'll be games and events for pet-owners and pets; a gold coin donation jumping castle and face-painting for children; a BBQ, cold drinks and a licensed bar; egg-and-spoon races; sack races; and lots of other fun. Guests should wear pyjamas - there'll be prizes for the nattiest ones - and if you don't have a pet, there'll be some available for loan, as well as a dog and cat adoption stand. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
Karaoke Night - Wondai
The South Burnett Lively 50s & 60s Singles Social Group will be attending a Karaoke Night at the Warana Hotel at 42 Mackenzie Street, Wondai from 7:30pm until late this evening. Fancy Food Friday - Wondai
Dimities Cottage at 49 Haly Street in Wondai (opposite the Wondai Art Gallery) will be holding a Fancy Food Friday from 6:00pm this evening. Chef Graham will be throwing open the doors of the Posh Dining Room to showcase a special a-la-carte menu of treats he's carefully prepared in Dimities' kitchen, and you can order whatever you like: anything from bite-sized entrees right up to something so substantial you might not need another meal for a week. Junior Blue Light Disco - Kingaroy
The first bi-monthly Junior Blue Light Disco for 2013 will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to 8:30pm this evening. Entry to the Junior Disco is restricted to young people aged 14 and below who can produce their student ID, and in addition to a fun night out tonight's disco will also have some great prizes to be won as well (courtesy of sponsors Blooms The Chemist and the Kingaroy RSL. Admission is $5 and - as usual - attendees are asked to remember that Blue Light Discos are drug, alcohol, chewing gum and tobacco free and no passouts or early exit will be given without parental permission and/or collection. Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). Adult Learn To Swim Class - Wondai
Are you an adult who doesn't know how to swim and/or feels inseciure in the water? Then get along to the Wondai Swimming Pool at 101 Mackenzie Street. They'll be holding a gold coin donation Adult Learn To Swim Class from 10:00am to 11:00am this morning (and every Friday morning until Easter). The course is conducted by local swimming coach Adam Stephenson and it's open to adults of all ages, levels of fitness and ability. All you need to bring are your swimming togs, a towel, sun protection, a gold coin and (if needed) your medication. Your gold coin donation is paid directly to Adam and all swimming pool fees are waived, since they're paid for by the South Burnett Regional Council's Healthy Communities program. More details? Endeavour Foundation Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be holding bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning. There'll be four jackpots on offer, as well as a raffle. Everyone is welcome.
Pink Stumps Day - Wondai
South Burnett cricketers and everyone who'd like to help a worthy cause will be gathering at the Wondai Country Club on the Bunya Highway, Wondai at 6:00pm this evening for the Wondai Cricket Club's Charity Bowls Night. The event is strictly limited to 64 players, but it's open to cricketers, bowlers and non-bowlers alike and should be a lot of fun. There'll be a BBQ in operation and if you get your name in by 6:30pm - along with a $15 entry fee - you can be hitting the green at 7:00pm. There'll also be novelties, draws and raffles all night, along with trophies galore to be won. Proceeds from tonight's event will go to the McGrath Foundatuon, which helps place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia and increase breast awareness in young Australian women. Blue Light Skating - Nanango
The Nanango Blue Light Disco committee will be holding their regular third Friday of the month U13s To U18s Skating Night at the Nanango Skating Rink in George Street, Nanango from 6:00pm to 9:00pm tonight. The Nanango & District Netball Association will be holding a 2013 Sign On at the Brooklands Road netball courts at 4:30pm this afternoon. New players are very welcome!
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
