South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
3rd Annual Windera Music Muster
Windera State School P&C will be holding their third annual Windera Music Muster at the school's leafy grounds on the Murgon-Gayndah Road from 3:00pm until around 11:00pm tonight. The event will feature well-known country artists Ashley Cook, Lindsay Butler and Shaza Leigh along with great local acts Amber Goldsmith, Bruzz, Joe Offord and more. This open air concert is a fundraiser for the school's P&C to help them purchase resources for the kids, and there'll also be a licensed bar, children's entertainment, a kup murri, hot chips, burgers and a sausage sizzle. If you enjoy a relaxing afternoon and evening of good music, good company and yummy food under shady trees this is a great late-summer event you simply shouldn't miss. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for high school students (primary school and below are free). Beach Cricket Afternoon - Goomeri
The Goomeri Show Society will be holding another Beach Cricket Afternoon at the Top Arena of the Showgrounds in Moore Street, Goomeri from 3:00pm onwards this afternoon (weather permitting). Teams of six - and each team must include at least one female - can compete for fantastic prizes, and there'll be a bar and BBQ running too. Saturday Cricket
South Burnett cricketers will be playing the latest rounds of this year's 2012-13 cricket season at a variety of locations around the region today (round 11 for A grade, round 14 for B grade). In A-grade, Kingaroy RSL will play the Murgon Crusaders at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy, while the Nanango Scorpions will play Wooroolin Warriors at the Nanango Sportsgrounds. And in B-grade, Kingaroy RSL will play the Kumbia Rattlers at Taabinga State School; Murgon Magic will play the Wondai Wolves at the Murgon Sportsgrounds; Murgon Diggers will play Woroolin Warriors at the same venue; and so will the Murgon Colts when they take on Barambah. All matches are one day games and get underway at 12:00 noon. Spectators and supporters are very welcome!
Kingaroy & Districts SGAP Meeting - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy & Districts Society For Growing Australian Plants (SGAP) will be holding their second meeting for 2013 at Harry and Robin Franz's residence at 25 Redmans Road in Kingaroy today. Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy

Dimities Cottage at 49 Haly Street, Wondai will be holding another of their popular monthly all-you-can-eat Seafood Smorgasbords from 6:30pm this evening (dinner starts at 7:00pm). Learn How To Play Bridge - Kingaroy

Nanango Computer Club Meeting
The Nanango Computer Club will be holding its regular fortnightly meeting at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango between 1:30pm and 4:00pm this afternoon. The club caters for computer enthusiasts at all skill levels and welcomes anyone interested in learning more about computers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You can attend the first two meetings for free - after that, annual membership is $10 - and there's a $2 fee per meeting to cover coffee and cake. Permaculture Workshop - Kingaroy
Biologist Dr Sandra Tuszynska will be holding a free permaculture workshop at the Kingaroy Library in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to 12:00 noon this morning. The workshop - "The Living Soil" - will focus on the soil ecosystem and the bacteria, algae, fungi, plants, worms and insects that inhabit it. It will also look at how these things contribute to the formation, composition, structure, fertility and health of the soil. The workshop would be of interest to anyone interested in permaculture or gardening.
Friendship Markets - Kingaroy
The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at the Senior Citizens Centre in Avoca Street, Kingaroy from 6:30am to around 12:00pm today.
