Nanango Christmas Races
The Nanango Race Club will be holding their annual Christmas Race Meeting at the Lee Park Raceway off the D'aguilar Highway just south of Nanango from 12:30pm to around 4:30pm this afternoon. Today's meeting will have an "Ravishing Red" theme and everyone is encouraged to dress up in their best red outfits (bow ties for men) to be in the running for some great Moffatdale Ridge Fashions Of The Field prizes. The meeting is a 5-race event and in addition to a bumper field of top-notch horses there'll also be amusements for children; a lucky racebook prize; plus a few other surprises you'll have to be trackside to see. The club's popular Pink Champagne bar will be running all day too and there'll also be a licensed bar and BBQ; bookmakers and an on-course tote. Buses will be running to the races from Kingaroy's Carrollee Hotel (at noon) and Glendon Street Bus Depot (12:15pm), and the Nanango RSL at 12:30pm. Gates will open at the track itself at around 12:00 noon so that go-getters can get a head start on the all-important socialising. Yarraman Markets - Yarraman
The Yarraman Progress Association's monthly Yarraman Markets will be held at their new location on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 1:00pm today. The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls and an under-cover play area for children. Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Art Gallery in Haly Street, Kingaroy will be opening their latest exhibition at 10:00am this morning with a free morning tea. The new exhibition is the annual South Burnett Disability Art Show, where all artworks and craftworks are created by people who are living with some form of disability. The exhibition was mounted on December 3 and will remain on display until January 7, but today's official opening will provide visitors with the opportunity to meet some of the artists in person and enjoy a free morning tea. Markets In The Garden - Kumbia
Kumbia's new Markets In The Garden will be held in Bell Street, Kumbia from 7:00am to around 1:00pm today. These markets are now held on the second Saturday of each month and feature fresh fruit and vegies, jewellery, childerens furniture and toys, plants, hairdresser dolls and bears, bric-a-brac and collectables amongst many other things. There's also live music, face painting for children, a variety of free workshops and even a sausage sizzle! New stallholders are also very welcome. More details? Yarraman Christmas Carnival
The Yarraman and District Progress Association's very popular annual Yarraman Christmas Carnival will be held at the Yarraman Recreation Grounds on the corner of Emmett and Margaret Streets from 5:00pm until around 10:00pm this afternoon and evening. The Carnival will feature free slides, free rides, food stalls and musical entertainment, as well as a special visit by Santa Claus at around 6:00pm when he'll arrive with presents for the children. After a dinner break at the BBQ, this will be followed with a giant fireworks display at 7:30pm and then the entertainment will continue until around 10:00pm. Everyone is welcome along to this popular Yuletide celebration and admission is 100% free. A licensed bar will also be operating, and this year the Yarraman Over-50s will be bringing back a $2-a-ticket ham wheel too. Everyone is welcome! More details? Graeme Jensen - Kingaroy

Christmas Tree Bush Dance - Monogorilby
A big Christmas Tree Bush Dance will be held at Monogorilby Hall from 6:00pm onwards this evening. Entertainment will be suppled by the effervescent Home Brewed Bush Band and there'll also be a BBQ, bar and even an appearance by Santa. Murgon State High School Garage Sale
Here's something different! Murgon State High School at 2 Dutton Street in Murgon will be holding a garage sale from 7:00am until 12:00 noon this morning to dispose of obsolete school equipment and help raise some funds for the school at the same time. The sale will feature lots of pre-loved school furniture, desks, stools, chairs, cabinets and filing cabinets, but there'll also be some musical instruments, manual arts equipment, grinders, a Ryobi scroll saw, projectors, old computer monitors, hydroponic lights and a whole lot more (including a David Brown 885 tractor for tender - make an offer). What's On At The Wineries This Weekend
The South Burnett's wineries and cellar doors will all be open this weekend if you want to relax in their cafes and/or taste their wines. The South Burnett is now the largest wine region in Queensland and (excluding the Granite Belt) larger than all the State's other wine regions put together. Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy

Ulysses Motor Cycle Club Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett's favourite motorcycle club, the Ulysses MC Burnett Branch (motto: "Grow old disgracefully") will be holding their regular 2nd Saturday of the month meeting at the Kingaroy Hotel-Motel at the corner of Haly Street and the Bunya Highway in Kingaroy from 9:00am this morning. Visitors and prospective new members are very welcome.
Dance - Booie Hall
A dance will be held at Booie Hall from 8:00pm until around 12:00am this evening. Music will be supplied by Chattanooga and there'll be the usual great supper, novelties and lucky door prize. Goomeri Christmas Carnival
The annual Goomeri Lions Club And Chamber of Commerce Christmas Carnival will be held in Dickinson's Park in Goomeri from 5:30pm this afternoon until late tonight. As usual, this very popular family event will feature ham wheels, chocolate wheels, raffles, market stalls, a bbq, music and a licensed bar. There'll also be a whip creaking demonstration; live entertainment from the Goomeri State School choir; face painting and games for children; and a children's Christmas Fancy Dress competition too! Santa will be arriving around 7.45pm to pose for photos with the little ones. Admission is 100% free.
Seafood Buffet - Murgon
