2012 Kingaroy Christmas Carnival
The annual Kingaroy Christmas Carnival will be staged by the South Burnett Young Leaders Association in and around O'Neill Square at the corner of Kingaroy and Haly Streets from 5:00pm to 9:00pm this evening. This year's Carnival will feature a plenty of stalls and amusement rides for the youngsters; lots of prizes and giveaways; food and craft stalls; $2 amusement rides; $3 face-painting; $6 dodgem rides; and photos with Santa (who'll be arriving at 6:15pm) for a gold coin donation. There'll also be music and live entertainment, including hosting by Clare and Corky from CROW-FM 90.7. You can find out more details about this year's event on the Christmas Carnival's website. Thursday Evening Dance Classes - Kingaroy
Social Dance Classes will be held in the Apex room of the Kingaroy Senior Citizens Centre at the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy (opposite Super IGA) at 6:30pm this evening. You can learn how to do the Gypsy Tap, Pride of Erin or some of the latest sequence dances - and don't worry if you haven’t got a partner, there are plenty of dancers to help you! It doesn't matter if you just want to learn, have been dancing for years or are visiting the area - come along for a great night out with heaps of fun and laughter. St Joseph's Bingo - Murgon
St Joseph's Parish Hall in Angel Avenue, Murgon will be holding bingo games from 7:30pm this evening. There'll be $1000 in prizes on offer as well as a canteen and lucky bingo tickets. Proceeds will go to aid St Joseph's school and community works.
Thursday Afternoon Golf - Nanango
The Nanango Golf Club on the D'Aguilar Highway at Nanango holds a 9-hole stableford game every Thursday afternoon for anyone interested in playing. Names need to be in by 1:00pm for a 1:30pm start, and new players are always welcome. More details? Phone the golf club on (07) 4163-1463

Bingo games will be held at Taras Hall immediately next to Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango at 10:00am this morning. Everyone is welcome!
Blackbutt-Benarkin Community Council Meeting
he Blackbutt-Benarkin Community Council - an initiative of South Burnett Community Enterprises Ltd (the company that operates the Yarraman and District Community Bank and the Blackbutt branch) - will be holding its regular monthly meeting at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 7:00pm to around 9:00pm this evening. The BBCC focusses on looking at ways to improve the community in the Blackbutt-Benarkin area and anyone who'd like to make a positive difference to the Timber Towns is very welcome to attend! Alcoholics Anonymous - Kingaroy
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes with each other to help solve their common problems and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership, and A.A. isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution. Warren Truss - Woolooga, Kilkivan, Goomeri, Murgon and Widgee
Federal Member for Wide Bay Warren Truss will be meeting local constituents to hear any issues of concern that he may be able to assist them with today, including Centrelink matters, Veterans Affairs, immigration, education or taxation. Mr. Truss will be holding meetings in Woolooga next to the community hall at 8:30am; at the former Kilkivan Shire Council offices in Bligh Street, Kilkivan at 10:00am; the Goomeri SES office at 11:30am; the former Murgon Shire Council chambers in Stephens Street West, Murgon at 1:30pm; and finally the Widgee Community Complex in Widgee at 3:30pm.
