Arts Exhibition Opening - Wondai

The Wondai Regional Art Gallery, on the roundabout at Wondai, will be announcing the winner of the $3000 Mayor's Acquisitive Art Prize at the official opening of their latest exhibition tonight. There are a total of $8000 in cash prizes to be won! As usual, tonight's opening, from 6:00pm, will also feature hot and cold finger foods and punch, glasses of wine available from Nuova Scuola, live music and lots of fun socialising. Antfest 2024 - Kingaroy

5:30pm to around 7:00pm this evening. Antfest is the annual exhibition of works by members of the Jumping Ant Arts collective, and there'll be everything from watercolours and linocuts to ceramics, silk scarves and digital artworks filling the gallery spaces. Everyone is welcome and there's no entry fee. Refreshments will be provided. Works will remain on display until October 30.

Cheap As Chips Night - Kumbia

The Kumbia Hall Committee will be holding another of their monthly Cheap As Chips nights at Kumbia Hall in Bell Street from 6:00pm this evening. Tonight's theme is "Hawaiian Nights" and in addition to a great dinner of "tropical" foods there'll also be a trivia competition, raffles, a lucky door prize and a licensed bar. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy

The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 1A (Lot 3) Railway Terrace in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. Manar Park Farewell Weekend - Boondooma

The Blinco family is hosting a four-day Kings Birthday Farewell Weekend at the Manar Park off-road recreational park. The Blincos' lease is up on October 28 and this could be the last major event held at the facility. There will a 4×4 tour, skid pan, barrel races, and Flamin’ Grillas will be on site to offer breakfast, lunch and dinner on each day. A bonfire and music will be happening on Sunday night to coincide with the NRL grand final. As part of the celebrations a Monster Truck will be at the park on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to take people for $5 rides.
