Country Gospel Night - Kingaroy
Here's something different! A Country Gospel Night will be held at the Kucks Pavilion inside the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 6:30pm to 9:00pm tonight. The evening is a fundraiser to help victims of the Nepal earthquakes and it will feature local and not-so-local country gospel singers coming together with Kingaroy's churches and the South Burnett Shed Men for a great Sunday night of entertainment. Timbertown Woodworkers Group Meeting
The Timbertown Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Sunday AFL - Kingaroy
Round 6 of the 2015 Darling Downs AFL competition will be played at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy today, kicking off at 10:30am when the South Burnett Saints U16s play the Toowoomba Tigers. This will be followed at 12:10pm with the South Burnett Saints playing the Lockyer Valley Demons; and then at 2:00pm with a match between the South Burnett Saints women's side and the Lockyer Valley Demons women's side. Today's matches will be the Saints' first home games in several weeks and all the teams will be keen to turn on a good performance for the home crowd. Spectators and supporters are very welcome, a bar and canteen will be operating and admission is free.
Kilkivan Sunday Markets
The weekly Kilkivan Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. Rock & Roll Dance Lessons - Nanango
Rock & Roll Dance Lessons will be held at the Heritage Pavilion inside Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street at 1:00pm this afternoon. The cost for a 2-hour lesson is $10 and beginners are very welcome. Classes are held fortnightly. More details? Phone Sue on 0418-759-330.
Hivesville Country Markets
The Hivesville Country Markets will be held at the Hivesville Sports Grounds (just around the corner from the Hivesvile Hotel) from 7:00am to around 12:00 noon today. These family friendly monthly markets feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. There'll also be a mini auction starting at 10:00am and there's plenty of free parking in the grounds. Sunday Afternoon Poker - Kingaroy
Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy will be hosting Sunday afternoon poker games today. Registration starts at 2:00pm and the first cards are dealt at 2:30pm. There are $150 in prizes to be won and no fees to play. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Tansey Polocrosse Carnival
The second (and final) day of the annual Tansey Polocrosse Carnival will be held at the Tansey Polocrosse Fields near Tansey today. The Carnival attracts teams from all over the nation and because Tansey are the current state title holders, the standard of competition will be very high. Spectators are very welcome.
