South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Art Gallery in Haly Street (opposite the peanut silos) will be opening their May exhibition with at 6:00pm tonight. This month the gallery's main exhibition will be "Encounters" by the Jumping Ant Arts group, which will feature works by 14 local artists in all types of media. The exhibition will be officially opened by Deputy Mayor Keith Campbell at 7:00pm, and the group will also be launching their new web site tonight as well. Light refreshments will be served and there'll be a lucky door prize donated by Moffatdale Ridge too. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. Note: After tonight's opening the exhibition will remain on display from 9:00am to 4:30pm on weekdays and 10:00am to 4:00pm on weekends until the end of the month.
Coverty Creek Social Club Meeting
The Coverty Creek Comunity Development and Social Club will be holding its regular Friday night social gathering at the Red Shed at 198 Coverty Road, Coverty from 5:00pm until around 10:00pm tonight. Junior Rugby League - Kingaroy
Junior rugby league action will be at TJ O'Neill Oval in Kingaroy tonight. At 7:00pm the U14 Kingaroy girls and U15 Kingaroy boys sides will be taking on visiting teams; at 8:00pm, the U16 Kingaroy girls will hit field.
Friday Night Karaoke - Kingaroy

Friday Morning Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be running bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be four jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help people with an intellectual disability. Everyone is welcome. More details? Jesse Morris Band - Goomeri
The Jesse Morris Band from Byron Bay will be performing at Joe's Grand Hotel in Boonara Street, Goomeri from 7:00pm until late tonight. The band are currently on their way to the Northern Territory as part of a national tour to promote their new album, as well as fundraising for children in Cambodia. Country Music Night - Nanango
An informal Country Music Night will be held at the Uniting Church Hall in Gipps Street, Nanango at 7:30pm tonight. The get-together is open to both spectators and performers, and the $2 entry fee includes supper. Everyone is welcome!
Muddy Flats - Murgon
The South Burnet's top indigenous band Muddy Flats will be performing at the Murgon Services Club in Lamb Street, Murgon from 7:30pm until late tonight. Admission is free. More details from the club on (07) 4168-1819.
Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). South Burnett Pantry
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). Blackbutt History Morning
The Blackbutt and District Tourism and Heritage Association will be holding a History Morning at Nukku Nook opposite the skate park in Hart Street, Blackbutt from 9:30am to around 12:00 noon this morning. The focus of this month's meeting will be guest speaker Dale Castle from Yarraman, who has worked in the Blackbutt-Benarkin area for many years (with forestry and the electicity board) and who has a long association with many community groups in the area too, particularly the Church Of England. The morning is free and a great cuppa will be available for a gold coin donation. Everyone is welcome to come along and interact with long-time residents of the Blackbutt and Benarkin districts! The Nanango Blue Light Disco committee will be holding their monthly U18s Blue Light Disco at the Nanango Skating Rink in George Street, Nanango from 6:00pm to 8:00pm tonight.
