South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Rail Trail Public Consultation Meetings - Memerambi, Wooroolin and Tingoora
The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding three public consultation "open house" meetings about the Kingaroy-Murgon Rail Trail at Memerambi, Wooroolin and Tingoora today. The meetings will have some photos of the rail trail as it exists now, along with artist's conceptions of how it might look when it's developed, and everyone is welcome to come along, find out more, see ideas that some other very successful rail trails in Australia and New Zealand have put into practice, and contribute their own ideas about how this project should look and what it should do for the community. The Memerambi meeting will be held the footpath outside the One Stop Shop from 8:00am to 10:00am; the Wooroolin meeting at the park opposite the Post Office (near the playground) from 11:00am to 1:00pm; and the Tingoora meeting at Tingoora Park opposite the Tingoora Hotel from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Wondai Senior Citizens Club Meeting
The Wondai Senior Citizens Club will be holding their second Wednesday of the month meeting at the Wondai Diggers Club at 87 Mackenzie Street, Wondai from 1:00pm this afternoon. The $2 meeting fee includes afternoon tea, a singalong, card games, bingo and beatles with small prizes, and membership is only $5 a year. The club also organises occasional bus trips. South Burnett Regional Council Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding its sixth general meeting for 2015 at the Glendon Street Council Chambers in Kingaroy at 9:00am this morning. Meetings are open to the public.
Wednesday Night Judo - Murgon
The Murgon Judo Club will be holding its regular Wednesday training night at the Salvation Army Hall in Macalister Street, Murgon this evening. Nanango Playgroup Meeting
The Nanango Playgroup will be holding its regular Wednesday meeting at the Nanango Darts Club at the corner of Elk and George Streets between 9:30am and 11:30am this morning. The playgroup is a group of mums, dads, grandparents and caregivers who meet together each week with their children (aged 5 years and under) for interaction and fun. It's a great way for children to learn about the world, make friends and develop social skills. The playgroup also gives the adults a chance to meet and share ideas and experiences. Kingaroy TAFE Open House
The Kingaroy TAFE College at Geritz Road off the Bunya Highway south-west of Kingaroy will be holding an Open House from 5:00pm to 6:30pm tonight. If you're thinking about further education, tonight's Open House will let you tour the facilities. Teachers from industries ranging from aged care and hospitality to engineering will also be on-hand to talk about courses, job outcomes, flexible study and payment options, and recognition of prior learning. Timbertown Woodworkers Group Meeting
The Timbertown Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Wednesday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Man Cave - Kingaroy
The Sister Dolores Carroll Training Centre at St Mary's Catholic College at 10 Kent Street in Kingaroy will be transforming into a "Man's Cave" between 6:30pm and 10:00pm tonight. Qualified instructors will be demonstrating the use of all the equipment in the centre - great stuff like lathes, drills etc - and if you're a man interested in restoring or manufacturing wood or metal products and socialising with other men who have similar interests, then this could be the place for you! Indoor Bowls & Cards Day - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting indoor bowls and cards (500) competitions at its centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy between 9:00am and 4:00pm today.
