A locally produced film celebrating the South Burnett’s people, places and experiences will be officially launched in Kingaroy on July 23.

The film has been made by Nanango videographer Joe “Charlie” Spagalli and Greenview artist Robyn Dower who have been criss-crossing the region for more than 12 months at the behest of local tourism organisation Visit South Burnett.

The project, dubbed “Would You Like to Be in My Shoes?”, was funded by the Regional Arts Development Fund in 2025.

Charlie and Robyn have been attending events and communities, shooting video and taking photographs – often accompanied by a large pair of shoes.

The completed film offers a snapshot of South Burnett life, inviting viewers to “step into the shoes” of the people who live, work, create and play here.

As well as the film, the project has created an extensive library of video footage that Visit South Burnett can use to promote the region and its many stories into the future.

The official launch will be held from 5:30pm on Thursday, July 23, in the Supper Room at Kingaroy Town Hall.

Guests will be among the first to view the completed film while enjoying complimentary drinks and nibbles.

The evening will also feature photo collages of the project’s participants, along with shoes and shoeprints decorated by local artists.

The launch is free to attend, however, registration is required for catering purposes and can be made online

There will also be a public display at Kingaroy Mall on July 24-25 and July 27.
