A record number of entries have been received for this year’s South Burnett Training & Business Awards.
Organising committee spokesperson Nicola Pitt said so many entries had been received a fourth independent judge had been appointed to help sort through and assess the submissions.
The 4th annual awards dinner will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall on September 26.

The evening will include a three-course meal, with MISfITZ providing the live music and Nancy Jayde Photography capturing the celebrations.
Entries were invited from individuals and businesses across the South Burnett and Cherbourg regions.
Award categories this year include:
- 2026 Business of the Year
- 2026 Apprentice of the Year
- 2026 Trainee of the Year
- 2026 School-Based Apprentice / Trainee of the Year
- 2026 Equity Award
Two new categories are:
- 2026 Arts Business or Event of the Year
- 2026 Music Venue of the Year
As well, non-competitive Employee Excellence Awards will be presented.
Several new sponsors have also come on board this year, including South Burnett Arts Inc which is sponsoring the Arts Business or Event of the Year category.
Nicola said all nominees will receive an email within days with further information.
