Local MP Deb Frecklington has congratulated three local businesses recognised among the best in Queensland in the 2026 Queensland Day “All The Best” awards.

The Member for Nanango said the Queensland Day awards celebrated the very best the State has to offer, with thousands of Queenslanders voting to support their favourite local businesses.

The Nanango electorate secured an impressive result, with three local businesses achieving top three placings across different categories, highlighting the strength of small business in the region.

The businesses recognised were:

  • Blackbutt Bakery – 3rd (in bakeries)
  • Linard Floral and Bridal Centre, Kingaroy – 2nd (in florists)
  • The Linville Hotel – 2nd (in hotels)

Ms Frecklington said the results were a testament to the quality, dedication and community spirit of local operators.

“Our region consistently punches above its weight, and this recognition shows just how highly regarded our local businesses are right across Queensland,” she said.

“Community support is at the heart of every successful small business, and it’s clear our locals got right behind these fantastic operators,” she said.

“This recognition was something the entire community could be proud of and congratulated each business on their achievement”.

What Is Queensland Day?

Queensland Day, June 6, is the anniversary of the day that Queensland officially separated from New South Wales in 1859.

Queen Victoria was approached to consider creating a separate colony based in Moreton Bay.

She gave her approval and signed the Letters Patent on June 6, 1859.

And, not surprising, she preferred the name “Queensland” over other suggestions, including “Cooksland”.
