Congratulations to the Kingaroy Golf Club on an incredible milestone … 100 years of golfing excellence in our community!

I was proud to mark the occasion alongside my parliamentary colleagues, who were more than happy to show their support by signing the club’s flag.

Thank you to the Ministers for helping us celebrate this centenary moment.

Clubs like Kingaroy Golf Club don’t thrive for a century without the dedication of hardworking volunteers. Their passion and commitment since 1925 have helped the club grow into the success it is today.

And here’s something worth bragging about … Kingaroy Golf Club was named 2024 Queensland Club Of The Year!

Long-Serving JPs Celebrated

As both the local Member and Attorney-General, I was delighted to acknowledge the incredible dedication of some of our region’s longest-serving volunteers.

It was a privilege to celebrate the remarkable service of Justices of the Peace and Commissioners for Declarations who have devoted 40, 50, and even 60 years to supporting their communities.

Special congratulations to Mr Nelson Dimond and Mr Robert Bougoure, who were each recognised for an extraordinary 60 years of service.

Together, this inspiring group has contributed nearly 500 years of volunteer service, an outstanding commitment to justice, integrity, and community spirit. They truly embody the values we all admire.

A big thank you to the Kingaroy QCWA for hosting us. The hospitality was warm, and the scones, as always, were second to none!

Making Queensland Safer

The Crisafulli Government is dedicated to making Queensland a safer place, and I’m truly grateful for the unwavering efforts of our local police who work every day to protect our communities.

The government’s stronger laws are already making an impact. Illegal tobacco and vape outlets are being shut down, and dangerous knives are being taken off the streets right here in the South Burnett.

It’s always a privilege to spend time with our hardworking local police and thank them for the vital role they play in keeping our region safe.

I had the honour of presenting service medals to dedicated volunteers from the Rural Fire Service Queensland, recognising their outstanding commitment to protecting local communities and an opportunity to thank our rural firefighters for the critical role they play in keeping us safe.

As part of the visit, upgraded appliances were officially handed over to replace retired units, boosting the capacity and efficiency of local brigades.

The Ballogie, Maidenwell, Taromeo and Bunya Mountains Rural Fire Brigades were among the proud recipients acknowledged on the day.

A huge thank you to Nat, Amanda, and Emily for organising another fantastic Ladies On The Lawn in Kingaroy.

It was a beautiful afternoon spent fundraising for “Brooksy’s Crew”, a South Burnett Relay For Life team.

I was grateful to be surrounded by 242 amazing women, endless raffles, live music by Fitzy and Amber Goldsmith, perfect weather, and even better company.

I couldn’t ask for a better day supporting a fantastic cause.

Nanango Show

The light rain did not deter the crowds for the 116th Nanango Show & Rodeo.

As always, I enjoyed my time working the rodeo bar with Mayor Kathy Duff, Kayleen, Robyn and the other wonderful helpers.

Thank you president Les Schloss and the great team of Nanango Show Society volunteers for your hard work towards putting on another fun show.

Anzac Day

Anzac Day is a time to remember those who fought for us – their sacrifice, service and mateship.

It was wonderful to see so many schools having ceremonies to honour those who served for us.

Nanango State High School commemorated Anzac Day with an inspiring service including stories from war, songs and reflection.

Toogoolawah State School commemorated with a service and wreath laying.  I was proud to join the classes in also donating a book to their school library.

The Esk Dawn Service was damp but an honour to join the community for their service and gunfire breakfast.

Then it was on to Yarraman for a beautiful service with a stark reminder of the sacrifices made for our country.  This small town saw 93 brave men serve in World War 1 – 60 per cent were wounded or never made it home.

What a fantastic afternoon at the Wondai Anzac Day Races!

This event continues to draw huge crowds each year, and it’s easy to see why … great racing, community spirit and country hospitality at its finest.

I’m always proud to sponsor a race and be part of this iconic tradition that brings so many locals and visitors together.

Country racing plays such a vital role in our region, supporting local clubs and boosting our local economy.

As always, Fashions on the Field was a standout, with some truly impressive style and creativity on show. Congratulations to all the winners and entrants.

A big thank you to the Wondai Race Club and volunteers for another outstanding event. Looking forward to next year already!

History Made In The South Burnett!

We were absolutely thrilled to host the Women’s State of Origin season launch right here in the South Burnett at the stunning Old Hangar at Bethany, the first time this event has ever been held in a regional town!

It was a real privilege to meet the incredibly talented athletes and their coaching team, and to hear from some of our own amazing local sportswomen throughout the evening.

A huge thank you to Queensland Rugby League and CEO Ben Ikin for choosing our region to launch the season.

It was a proud moment for the South Burnett and a fantastic way to celebrate women in sport.

I’m looking forward to another series win!
