Police have wrapped up a month-long road safety blitz across Murgon, Cherbourg, Wondai and Proston.
More than 1300 roadside breath tests were conducted, with two drivers allegedly returning positive results.
Police also recorded 53 traffic-related occurrences, issued 43 traffic infringement notices and issued eight notices to appear in court for traffic-related offences, including unregistered and uninsured vehicles and unlicensed or disqualified driving.
Of the infringement notices issued, 23 were for speeding.
Other alleged offences included mobile phone use, failing to stop at a stop sign, failing to wear a seatbelt and having an unrestrained child in a school zone.
South Burnett Patrol Group Acting Inspector Scott Prendergast said the results demonstrated the importance of continued police visibility and enforcement across regional communities.
“Road safety is a priority for police, and we will continue to focus on the behaviours that put drivers, passengers and other road users at risk,” Inspector Prendergast said.
“Speeding, mobile phone use, failing to wear a seatbelt and driving under the influence are all choices that can have serious consequences.
“We want people to think about their actions before they get behind the wheel.
“These results show the positive impact of targeted road safety activity, but the responsibility for safer roads is shared by everyone.
“Whether you are driving five minutes down the road or travelling a long distance, take the time to slow down, put the phone away, wear your seatbelt and never drive under the influence.”
