April 30, 2024

Interested in finding out a bit more about the Australian Army Reserve, but were afraid to ask?

Then an event next Tuesday night (May 7) could provide you with all you need to know, with no obligation to sign up!

The free “Night In The Army Reserve” will be held from 6:00pm at the 25/49 RQR Battalion Army Reserve Depot in Bramston Street, Wondai.

Reservists parade there most Tuesday nights and are very keen for more local residents to join them.

And the bonus is, you get paid!

The “Night In The Army Reserve” will provide an opportunity for prospective recruits to learn more about life in the Army Reserve.

Visitors will be able to meet local Army Reserve soldiers, view training and talk about life, service and the benefits of being a part-time member.

Army Reserve service is unique in that it can be done in conjunction with tertiary education, vocational training and/or permanent, part-time or casual employment, all while earning tax-free income.

Attendance is free and there is no obligation to begin the recruiting process on the night.

Reservists make a commitment to serve a minimum of 20 days a year, but they can take the opportunity for longer deployments.

Eligibility requirements for the Army Reserve are the same as the regular Army.

People aged from 17 to 55 can apply.
