Goomeri P-10 School’s P&C has received a welcome $2000 boost from the CRT Primary Schools Program.

Andrew Holden, owner of Nedloh Rural Goomeri, visited the school this week to hand over the cheque.

Goomeri P-10 is one of five schools in Queensland – and 25 across Australia – to receive support from the program

Andrew said Goomeri P-10 played a vital role in the local community.

“This program is focused on recognising the important role P&C associations play in supporting the growth and development of the next generation,” he said.

“CRT is proud to provide a helping hand to support.”

The P&C will use the cash to buy a refrigerated water cooler / bubbler.

“With Goomeri hitting 45 degrees in summer, the importance of being able to get access to a cold drink is vital,” Andrew said.

“The kids are looking forward to the new bubbler.”

Mr Holden said Nedloh Rural was always looking at ways to support the local community.

CRT General Manager Greg O’Neil says applications for the program had been overwhelming.

“We received more than 170 applications this year which made it really difficult for the selection panel to narrow that down to our 25 successful applicants,” he said.
