A woman aged in her 50s was airlifted to hospital after a single-vehicle crash on Googa Creek Road at Blackbutt South on Sunday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the incident, on a gravel road, about 11:45am.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was also despatched, and was able to land nearby.

QFES crew and QAS paramedics were already on the scene, working to free the driver from her car.

An RACQ LifeFlight spokesperson said a passenger and two dogs that were also in the vehicle appeared to have escaped unhurt.

The female driver was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with suspected hand and arm injuries.

The driver of a 4WD was transported by helicopter to hospital in a critical condition after a single-vehicle crash on the Brisbane Valley Highway early on Sunday morning.

Paramedics, including a critical care paramedic and High Acuity Response Unit, were called to the incident at Wanora at 1:16am.

A police spokesperson said Forensic Crash Unit investigations revealed the Toyota Hilux was headed north when it ran off the highway and struck a tree.

The driver and sole occupant – a 32-year-old man – was initially trapped in the wreckage and had to be cut free by QFES personnel.

He was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
