It was also good weather for ducks at the 2017 Relay For Life … Natalee Young, from Ellesmere, and Nicole Armstrong, from Wondai

For the second year in a row, the South Burnett’s annual Relay For Life has been forced to take cover due to wet weather.

On Thursday afternoon, organisers announced that due to the recent storms and the forecast rain for Friday and Saturday, the Relay would be shifted to the Kingaroy State High School.

It will also be shortened so it won’t run overnight.

The 2018 Relay will get under way at noon on Saturday and run until 10:00pm.

Last year’s fundraiser for the Cancer Council of Queensland was also shifted at the last moment from the Kingaroy Showgrounds to the Indoor Sports Auditorium at the high school.

All the usual Relay For Live events happened, including the Survivors’ Walk and the Candlelight Ceremony – although the candles were replaced with glowsticks and mobile phone lights because of the indoor venue.
