A woman has been flown to Royal Brisbane Hospital with suspected spinal and head injuries after two vehicles collided on the Burnett Highway north of Nanango on Monday morning.

The crash occurred about 11:00am near the intersection with Kings Bridge East Road at Wyalla, midway between Nanango and Goomeri.

Police, QFES and ambulance officers attended the incident; an off-duty paramedic was one of the first on the scene.

The highway was blocked while two injured women were treated.

RACQ LifeFlight’s Toowoomba-based helicopter landed near the crash the site, and transported a woman aged in her 50s to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A LifeFlight spokesperson said the woman suffered pelvis, back, neck and head injuries.

A woman aged in her 40s was taken by road ambulance to Murgon Hospital with minor injuries.

The Police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.

The damaged Mitsubishi in Redmans Road, Kingaroy, on Monday morning

A man aged in his 20s was transported by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital after a single vehicle crash in Kingaroy on Monday morning.

The man’s Mitsubishi Lancer left the road and crashed into some scrub.

The incident occurred about 9:00am.
