Storm damage at the new Gordonbrook Water Treatment Plant has led to water restrictions in Kingaroy until repairs can be carried out

UPDATE December 9:  South Burnett Regional Council has lifted the temporary emergency water restrictions for the Kingaroy town area. Council has advised that Level 2 Water Restrictions are still in force throughout the South Burnett Region in all town areas.

The SBRC imposed temporary water restrictions on Kingaroy’s town area on Thursday after the Gordonbrook Water Treatment Plant suffered damage in Wednesday night’s storm

The restrictions limit water use to essential internal and external use only.

External water use is limited to essential tasks, such as the cleaning of windscreens, pet enclosures or emergency purposes.

Watering of gardens and lawns is not permitted, nor is cleaning concrete pathways.

The restrictions came into force at noon on Thursday and will remain in force until emergency repairs are complete.
