Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Art Gallery in Haly Street, Kingaroy will be unveiling their 2012 Acquisitive Art Exhibition at 6:30pm this evening. Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). Friday Night Dinner & Social Darts - Nanango
- The Nanango and District Darts Association will be holding their regular Friday night social darts games at their club house at the end of George Street, Nanango from 7:15pm onwards this evening. They'll also be offering inexpensive home-cooked dinners from 6:30pm if you want to chow down beforehand (but please phone the club on (07) 4163-1677 to book a seat). The club's licenced bar will be operating too, and both visitors and potential new members are very welcome.
Wondai & District Garden Club Meeting
- The Wondai & District Garden Club will be holding their second monthly meeting for 2012 at the Wondai Country Club on the Bunya Highway at Wondai at 9:30am this morning. The club meets on the 2nd Friday of every month (except for January) but the venue changes from one month to the next. Endeavour Foundation Bingo - Kingaroy

12th Annual Maidenwell Folk Gathering
- The 12th annual Maidenwell Folk Gathering will get underway around 6:00pm this evening at King's Hotel in Maidenwell, starting a weekend-long party that won't conclude until Sunday evening March 11th. The Folk Gathering is a pure folk music event (ie fully acoustic - no electrics are allowed) and because of this has built up a very loyal following over the years. Last year the Gathering attracted in excess of 200 people with virtually zero publicity and organisers are hoping for an even bigger crowd this year. The Festival itself is completely free to attend and there's also free camping available around the hotel if you want to stay overnight. Lots of great food will be available too but no BYO is allowed - you'll need to get your reasonably priced supplies from Kings if you want to party hard. More details? WAFITP Warm-Up Party
- The Commercial Hotel at the corner of Glendon and Haly Streets in Kingaroy will be holding a Wine & Food In The Park Warm-Up Party from 3:00pm this afternoon through until late tonight. There'll be $8 jugs and a free BBQ in the beer garden from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, then a big screen viewing of the Bronco's v Cowboys clash.
