88th Annual Murgon Show
The gates will open at Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon at 6:30am this morning and piping hot breakfasts will start being served up in the Cattleman's Bar for the second (and main) day of the 88th Annual Murgon Show. This year's Show will feature a big range of horse and cattle events and things will move into full gear from 8:00am onwards with judging for a bumper field of stud cattle; led steers; prime cattle and poultry. This year's Show will also feature a giant Dog Show and a top line-up of musical entertainment from Col Noble and Don Costa along with a big rodeo (from around 6:30pm); an animal nursery; a Ute Muster; a Fashion Parades; and Alpacas display (never seen at the Show before); the Show's biggest Sideshow Alley ever (including Laser Skirmish); big pavilion and trade exhibits; a photography display; and all the traditional fun of a great Aussie fair! The year's Murgon Show will be officially opened at around 2:30pm and there'll also be a spectacular fireworks display mid-way through the evening's rodeo at around 8:30pm. Admission to this year's Show is $12 for adults; $8 for pensioners and students with ID cards; $3 for primary school students; or $32 for a family (2 adults plus dependent children). Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowling Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
Smooth & Groove - Kingaroy

Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave
The Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave will be held from the 15th to 17th March this year. You can sign up now to take part at worldsgreatestshave.com and be brave and shave, colour or wax your hair in support of Queenslanders living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders. Do you dare to bare your scalp and have fun with friends, family, workmates or club members to raise vital funds for patient care and medical research into improved treatments and cures? Friendship Markets - Kingaroy
The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at the Senior Citizens Centre in Avoca Street, Kingaroy from 6:30am to around 12:00pm today. Friendship Dance - Kingaroy
The monthly Friendship Dance will be held at the Kingaroy Senior Citizens Centre in Avoca Street, Kingaroy (opposite Super IGA) at 7:30pm this evening, with music supplied by a local band. St Patricks Day Concert - Kumbia
A St Patricks Day Concert will be held at the Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, Kumbia at 2:00pm this afternoon as part of Kumbia's Centenary celebrations (doors open at 1:30pm). Remember hula hoops? A free workshop will be held in Memorial Park, Kingaroy, from 9:00am-1:00pm today so people of all ages can learn more about "Hoopercise", getting fit using hoops. What's On At The Wineries This Weekend
The South Burnett's wineries and cellar doors will all be open this weekend if you want to relax in their cafes and/or taste their wines. The South Burnett is now the largest wine region in Queensland and (excluding the Granite Belt) larger than all the State's other wine regions put together. St Patrick's Day Party Zone - Kingaroy
The Commercial Hotel in Kingaroy will be celebrating St Paddy's Day with live music all day, including the Liuam Parsons and the Hughes Limerick Band in the beer garden from 2:00pm, and DJdirex spinning the platters from 9:00pm until around 1:00am. Social Beach Cricket - Goomeri
Here's something different! Social Beach Cricket games will be held at the Goomeri Showgrounds off the Bunya Highway in Goomeri from 4:00pm until late this afternoon. Teams willbe six per side (with at least one junior and one female in each team) and the $24 per team nomination fee includes two games; a free drink; and the chance to win great prizes. Crikey! Here's something we didn't forsee! The South Burnett Spiritualist Church will be holding a Psychic Fair at the QCWA Hall in Fitzroy Street, Nanango from 9:00am to 3:00pm today. Psychic readers will be attending from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Nanango and you can get a reading for $20 or a bit of healing for a gold coin donation.
