International Womens Day Breakfast - Kingaroy
Today is the 101st annual International Womens Day (IWD) - a day which provides an opportunity to celebrate the political and social achievements of women in the past, present and future and to recognise the courageous acts performed by ordinary women to attain these things. IWD also provides an opportunity to unite women, organisations, businesses and the broader community to continue to support women and create meaningful change in the lives of women across the world. In the South Burnett, Centacare will be holding a special International Womens Day Breakfast at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 7:00am this morning to mark the occasion. Linda Silburn and Karen Seiler from BIEDO and Nicole Connolly from Stanwell will be special guest speakers at this morning's get-together and all women are welcome - but to assist with planning the catering an RSVP is essential. You can make one by phoning Nicole on (0400) 076-048 or by emailing her. Note: A number of International Womens Day Morning Teas will also be held at all libraries around the South Burnett this morning. If you can't make it to the Kingaroy breakfast but would like to attend one of these instead, the Kingaroy, Blackbutt and Proston libraries will be holding these morning teas at 9:30am; Murgon and Wondai libraries at 10:30am; and Nanango library at 11:00am.

Thursday Afternoon Golf - Nanango
The Nanango Golf Club on the D'Aguilar Highway at Nanango holds a 9-hole stableford game every Thursday afternoon for anyone interested in playing. Names need to be in by 1:00pm for a 1:30pm start, and new players are always welcome. More details? Phone the golf club on (07) 4163-1463
Nanango Play Group
Are you a Nanango mother with young children who'd enjoy a social get-together with other mums? Then get along to the weekly Nanango Play Group, which will be meeting at the CTC Nanango Hub at 42 Drayton Street in Nanango (ie the old pre-school building) from 10:00am to 12:00 noon this morning. Its facilities include community kitchens and - at times - the group has discussions with local Community Health officers attending the Hub about healthy eating and recipes you're able to cook at home. Meanwhile your children can enjoy a great venue with toys and activities that help with early learning. The Play Group is completely free and new members are always welcome! More details? Phone Sue on (07) 4171-0061 or email her.
