Health Crisis Meeting - Kingaroy
Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington will be holding a public meeting at St John's Lutheran Primary School Hall at 92 Ivy Street, Kingaroy from 10:30am to 11:30am this morning to discuss problems with Queensland's Health System, including a number of issues affecting Kingaroy Hospital such as staff shortages, problems with the building and long delays in refunding patient transport costs. Opposition leader David Crisafulli will also be attending the meeting to hear more about these local issues at first hand. The forum is free but seating is limited so a registration is essential. Maidenwell Community Group AGM
The Maidenwell Community Group will be holding its Annual General Meeting at Maidenwell Hall in Pool Street, Maidenwell at 7:00pm tonight. In recent years the group has had Maidenwell's sportsground levelled and improved; upgraded the town's median strip picnic area and amenities block; and run the very successful Maidenwell Running Festival and Maidenwell Post Rip Challenge events. However, in the past couple of years the COVID pandemic has forced the postponement or cancellation of several activities, and one aim of tonight's meeting will be to discuss the group's best path forward. All Maidenwell and district residents are very welcome to attend.
Anxiety And Depression Workshop - Wondai
RHealth will be running a free Intro To Anxiety And Depression Workshop at the Wondai Diggers Club in Mackenzie Street, Wondai from 9:00am until lunch time today. The workshop will be led by Dr Tim Driscoll, an expert who will explain what anxiety and depression are and why each condition occurs. He'll also discuss differences in both conditions, and then look at practical strategies that can help sufferers and the treatments that are available. The workshop is both for people who may be suffering from one or both conditions and/or their carers. Today's activities will kick off with a meet and greet over morning tea at 9:00am, followed by the workshop and then concluding with lunch. More details? The Proston Men's Shed will be meeting at their workshop buildings at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston for their regular Tuesday get-together this morning, kicking off with a cuppa around 8:00am and continuing on until around noon. Youth Hangs - Kingaroy
South Burnett CTC will be running a Youth Hangs afternoon of fun, games, music and afternoon tea at the Kingaroy Skate Park in Somerset Street, Kingaroy from 3:00pm to around 4:30pm today. This new event is funded by the Safer Communities Program and runs every two weeks. It's completely free and all young people are welcome.
South Burnett Chorale
The South Burnett Chorale will be holding their regular Tuesday practice night at the Church of Christ Hall at the corner of Haly and Burnett Streets in Kingaroy from 7:00pm to 9:00pm this evening. Alcoholics Anonymous - Nanango
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership, nor is it allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
