Proston Golden Spurs Hotel 2012 Post Rip Challenge
Here's something different! The Golden Spurs Hotel in Proston will be holding the 2012 Post Rip Challenge from 9:30am this morning through until late this afternoon as a fundraiser for local charities (registrations begin at 9:00am). There'll be a h-u-g-e range of post-ripping challenges on offer for this dinki-di, all-Australian bush sport including speed rips; a Jack and Jill rip; an Open post rip and many, many more. The Proston P&C will be running a sausage sizzle all day; the Proston Lions will be running raffles for some great prizes; and the Golden Spurs will be offering not only liquid refreshments for hard-earned thirsts, but will also have popular pop-rock duo Bruzz providing post-match entertainment late into the night. Entry fees to any of the events are a slim $5 (children are free) and there'll also be entertaining activities for children including wheelie bin races. Everyone is welcome and you can obtain more details by phoning John or Ann at the Golden Spurs on (07) 4168-9272. Video: If you're not sure what post-ripping is all about, this 6-minute YouTube from the 2008 Brisbane Ekka shows how the professionals do it!
