BBCC Candidates Night - Blackbutt
- The Blackbutt-Benarkin Community Council will be holding a Candidate's Forum for Mayoral and Division 2 candidates at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt at 6:00pm this evening so that Timbertowns residents can get to meet the five people running for Mayor and five people running for the Division 2 seat formerly held by Cr Deb Palmer, who'll be stepping down at the March 19 election. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. Note: Tonight's forum follows two similar ones held in Kingaroy and Nanango last month; another will be held in Kingaroy tomorrow, and the Murgon Business and Development Association will be holding one of their own on Thursday night.
Toowoomba Candidates Forum - Crows Nest
- Yarraman and Cooyar residents who'd like to find out more about the five candidates standing for the position of Mayor of Toowoomba Regional Council - or the 31 candidates vying for the seven councillor positions - but who were reluctant to travel 105km to Highfields on February 2 for a candidates forum held there will have another option tonight that's only 75km away. The Crows Nest & District Residents group will be holding a Candidates Forum at the Crows Nest Community Hall at 7:00pm this evening for a 7:30pm start. Each candidate will have no more than 3 minutes to speak, and the meeting will be followed by a supper. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
Brazilian Body Tone Workshop - Murgon
- The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding a Brazilian Body Tone Class from 4:30pm to 5:30pm this afternoon in their upstairs fitness studio. The class is based on the principles behind the well-known "Brazilian Butt Lift" and while the focus is on your lower body, it will help sculpt and tone your entire body in a fun, enjoyable atmosphere. - Training for Kingaroy Red Ants U16, U18 and A Grade players will be held at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy this evening. U16s and U18s start training at 5:30pm, and A grade players at 6:00pm.
Danny's Diner - Kingaroy
- Danny's Diner - a free community dinner - will be held at the Uniting Church Hall at the corner of Alford and Youngman streets in Kingaroy from 5:30pm to 7:00pm tonight. The dinner is an initiative of the Kingaroy District Ministry Association for the benefit of anyone who's hungry or otherwise doing it tough. Tuesday Night Basketball - Kingaroy
- The Tuesday night men's basketball competition will be running at the Kingaroy High School sports auditorium from 4:30pm onwards this evening. Five A-grade and six B-grade sides will battle it out, and spectators are very welcome. Tonight in A-Grade, Blue Team will play Thunder at 6:00pm; Blue Team will return to play Stingers at 7:00pm; and then Raptors will play Dream Crushers at 8:00pm. Spectators are very welcome!
International Women's Day Breakfast - Booie
- An International Women's Day Breakfast will be held at Cassis Restaurant at the corner of Haydens and Shellbachs Roads in Booie from 6:45am to around 8:30am today. A feature of the breakfast will be the launch of the Dr Ellen Mary Kent Hughes Memorial Scholarship to support a local woman embarking on tertiary education with a $5000 grant, and amazing local women will be sharing their stories too. There'll also be a raffle. Tickets are $35 per head ($25 for concessions) and need to be pre-purchased by February 29. They can be obtained from Kelly & Frecklington Solicitors at 44 King Street, Kingaroy and only limited numbers are available.

- The Proston Men's Shed in the old railway station building in Railway Park on Rodney Street will be holding its regular weekly meeting today, kicking off with a cuppa at 10:00am. New members are always welcome.

- The Kingaroy-Memerambi RSL Sub-Branch will be holding its Annual General Meeting at the Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street at 5:00pm this evening. All members are encouraged to attend.
Kingaroy QCWA Craft Day
- The Kingaroy branch of the QCWA will be holding one of their regular Craft Days at the QCWA Rooms in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy today (just next to Kingaroy RSL) from 9:00am to around 12:00 noon today. Red stitchery is being taught this month, but you're very welcome to come along and pursue your own craft if you prefer. Branch craft days are always very social mornings and guests are welcome come along, enjoy a great morning tea and share the fun of learning a craft together, or just enjoy a natter and friendship.
