St John's Starry Starry Trivia Night - Kingaroy
- The Parents and Friends Committee from St John's Lutheran School in Ivy Street, Kingaroy will be hosting their 3rd annual Trivia Night in the school's hall from 6:30pm until around 11:00pm this evening (play begins at 7:00pm sharp). This year's theme is "Starry Starry Night" and guests are encouraged to dress up like movie stars or with an astronomical theme (though it's not compulsory). Cost is $10 per person and play is in tables of eight. Participants must be 18 years and over, and you should BYO alcohol and food, along with plenty of loose change for the raffles and games throughout the night. All funds raised will go towards the school's ICT program, and tickets need to be booked and paid by February 26. More details? Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
- The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their second monthly exhibition for 2016 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight. This month the gallery will be hosting “Moving On” by artist Maree Cameron in the Main Gallery. This will be Maree's 23rd solo exhibition, and it is made up of 36 pieces in a variety of media. The Front Gallery, meanwhile, will host “Changing the Charm”, a series of new works by Sunshine Coast artist Dale Leach, based on the creative use of principles of patterning. And the Rear Gallery will host "Something for Everyone” by South Burnett artist Roza Lear, who has been painting in acrylics for the last five years, while students from Tingoora State School will be exhibiting in Kidz Korner. As usual, tonight's opening will also feature great hot and cold finger foods and punch, along with wine tastings from Cranes Winery, live entertainment and lots of fun socialising. World Day Of Prayer
- Today is the annual World Day of Prayer - an international, inter-denominational, inter-racial prayer movement held on the first Friday in March every year. This year's service has been written by the Christian women of Cuba. It will be observed in Kingaroy at the Uniting Church from 10:00am, followed by morning tea. In Nanango, the service will be hosted by the Anglican Church from 10:00am. In Yarraman, the Anglican Church will also be the host from 10:00am, with guest speaker Karen Patterson-Kane. Yarraman Ladies Bowls Club Meeting

Friday Morning Bingo - Kingaroy
- The Endeavour Foundation will be running bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be four jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help people with an intellectual disability. Everyone is welcome. More details? Seniors Having A Ball - Murgon
- The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding a "Seniors Having A Ball" exercise class from 8:30am to 9:30am this morning. The program is designed to address the issues that many have with ageing and it's not just for seniors! It provides light exercise to keep the heart and joints moving, improving coordination and mobility. It also provides a beginner platform to start any fitness activity on. As well as physical fitness, it also has a fun social atmosphere too. The class fee is just $4 for PCYC members or $7 for non-members. More details? Rotary Club Trivia Night - Murgon
- The Murgon Rotary Club will be holding a Trivia Night in the Murgon RSL's Diggers Room this evening to raise funds for the Western Queensland Drought Appeal. Regisrtration starts at 6:45pm and play will commence at 7:00pm. Teams of six can compete and in addition to a great trivia night there'll also be a multi-draw raffle, a money board and complimentary nibbles provided. Charity Golf Day - Kingaroy
- POSTPONED A Charity Golf Day to raise funds for the Lady Florence Bjelke-Petersen Community Hospital will be held at the Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway today. Circuit Fitness Class - Murgon
- The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding a Circuit Fitness Class from 4:30pm to 5:30pm this afternoon in their upstairs fitness studio. The class provides a great workout that will help increase strength as well as give you great cardio exercise, and the class fee is just $7 for PCYC members or $15 for non-members. More details? Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
- The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:30pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting (or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer). - Wesleyan Grace Community Food Hampers will be available at 36 Fitzroy Street, Nanango from 9:00am to 12:00 noon today. Food hampers will be available for $20.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
