South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Wondai Show
The first day of the two-day 95th Annual Wondai Show will be held at Wondai Showgrounds in Baynes Street, Wondai from early this morning through until late tonight (the gates will open to the public at 3:00pm). As usual, most of the morning and afternoon activities will be given over to judging this year's livestock and pavilion exhibits - the Show's main public day is tomorrow. But from 5:30pm this afternoon the South Burnett Kennel Club Championship Dog Show will get underway, followed soon afterwards at 6:30pm with the Show's traditional Stud Beef Young Judges and Paraders Competition. A licensed bar and BBQ will also be operating and the public are most welcome to come along to today's Show activities for free. More details? Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). Junior Blue Light Disco - Kingaroy
The fourth bi-monthly Junior Blue Light Disco for 2012 will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to 8:30pm this evening. Entry to the Junior Disco is restricted to young people aged 14 and below who can produce their student ID, and in addition to a fun night out tonight's disco will also have some great prizes to be won as well (courtesy of sponsor Freeman's Real Estate). Admission is $5 and - as usual - attendees are asked to remember that Blue Light Discos are drug, alcohol, chewing gum and tobacco free and no passouts or early exit will be given without parental permission and/or collection. Endeavour Foundation Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be holding bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). More than $1,000 in jackpots will be on offer. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society will be holding its latest monthly meeting for 2012 at the old Kingaroy Butter Factory Conference Room at the rear of Taste South Burnett at 67 William Street in Kingaroy from 6:30pm onwards this evening. The Wine Appreciation Society is open to anyone who'd like to learn more about wines and the $10 meeting fee covers wine tastings and nibbles. Tonight's meeting will be a blind tasting of 2012 Wine of the Year Finalists presented by Ted and Maxine Ricketts and should be a lot of fun (WAS meetings usually are). Everyone is welcome! Pool Competition - Nanango
The Fitzroy Hotel in Drayton Street, Nanango will be holding a Pool Competition at 8:00pm tonight. There are 32 places available with a $5 buy-in fee, and a $200 first prize for the winner (as well as lesser prizes for the two runners-up). Everyone is welcome.
