Daffodil Debutante Ball - Kingaroy
The annual Daffodil Debutante Ball - a fundraiser for the Queensland Cancer Council - will be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 8:00pm this evening. Eleven debutantes will be presented this evening (presentations will occur at 9:00pm) and there'll also be live entertainment, a finger food dinner and dancing, as well as a guest speaker from the Queensland Cancer Council. Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). Val Mathews & Jeff Hancox - Maidenwell
- Feeling a little bit bluesy? South Burnett entertainers Jeff Hancox and Val Mathews (you can hear some of her YouTubed sound clips at left) will be performing at the Maidenwell Hotel in Maidenwell from 7:30pm until around 11:30pm this evening - Jeff delivering his brilliant Elvis standards and Val delivering her popular mix of blues and soul numbers to get your toes tapping. Jeff and Val have been separately wowing local audiences the last few months but tonight's performance will be the first time these two musical powerhouses have shared the same stage. Kingaroy Community Garden Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Regional Council's Healthy Communities Initiative are re-establishing a Kingaroy Community Garden group around the Pound Street Community Garden - and today they'll be holding a Working Bee & Meeting at the garden between 10:00am and 12:00 noon to keep the garden nicely maintained. Anyone who'd like to get involved in this project is very welcome to come along (BYO chair, sun protection, water bottle, gardening gloves and closed-toe shoes). - The Wondai & District Garden Club will be holding their Annual General Meeting at the Wondai Country Club off the Bunya Highway in Wondai at 9:30am this morning.
