The Wondai Regional Art Gallery's popular monthly Wondai Country Markets will be operating at Coronation Park in Wondai's CBD from 7:00am to 12:00 noon today. Today's markets will feature stallholders selling fresh fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, useful knick-knacks and clothing. There'll also be live entertainment; lots and lots of other stalls selling great gifts and goodies; and special hand-made treasures from local artisans available from the Gallery's new "Studio" building just a short stroll across the park. The Wondai Kindergarten's BBQs will also be firing up from 6:45am to dish out hearty breakfasts to early bargain hunters. New stallholders are always very welcome (stall fees range from $10 with power and water available, if needed) and you can obtain more details by phoning the Gallery on (07) 4168-5926 or by emailing them
Fruit & Veggie Markets - Yarraman
Yarraman's monthly Fruit & Vegetable Markets will be running on the empty block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (opposite Bendigo Bank) from 7:00am to 12:00 noon today. These new markets run on the 4th Saturday of each month and offer a wide range of fresh fruit and veggies, along with plant and craft stalls.
Saturday Soccer
Soccer fans can rejoice today: after a two-week break for Easter, the fourth round of the South Burnett Evolution Solar Football League competition will resume in Murgon and Kingaroy this afternoon. In Murgon, Barambah United will play the Nanango Panthers at the Murgon Sportsgrounds, with 2nd Division hitting the park at 1:30pm; Women's Division playing at 3:15pm; and 1st Division concluding the day at 5:00pm. And in Kingaroy, Wests will take on Gunners at Tom Alford Oval at the end of Oliver Bond Street, with 2nd Division playing at 2:00pm; Women's Division at 3:30pm; and 1st Division at 5:00pm. A bar and canteen will be running at both venues, admission is free and spectators and supporters are very welcome! Meanwhile, Junior Soccer will kick off its 2014 season today at the Wondai Sportsgrounds on two fields, with matches at 8:30am, 9:15am, 10:00am and 10:45am. Junior soccer matches will be played at Wondai for the succeeding three weeks before swapping to Nanango for a month between May 24 and June 21, then to Kingaroy for the remainder of the season. NOTE: The Barambah v Nanango senior matches were previously scheduled to be played in Wondai.

Saturday Rugby League
Rugby league fans can rejoice today too! In the South Burnett, though, there'll also be a game with the Kingaroy Red Ants taking on the Monto Roos at 4:00pm at T.J. O'Neill Ovsl in Youngman Street, Kingaroy. The Roos were comprehensively thrashed by the Hornets 72-28 when the two teams played at the Wondai Sportsgrounds earlier this month, so today's match will be an interesting one to see. Admission to grounds is $5 and a canteen will be in operation. Spectators and supporters are very welcome! Note: Because of 47th Battalion commitments, there won't be any junior rugby league games in the region today, but they'll resume at Nanango, Kingaroy and Murgon next weekend.
