Men's Shed - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Men's Shed will be open from 9:00am to 12:00 noon and 2:00pm to 4:00pm today behind the Salvation Army's headquarters at 44 Alford Street in Kingaroy. The shed is open to all men who'd enjoy the companionship of other men while undertaking woodwork, metalwork or similar projects or who'd just enjoy a chat. More details? Kingaroy Writers Association Meeting
The Kingaroy Writers' Association will be meeting between 9:30am and 12:30pm this morning at the Uniting Church Hall on the corner of Alford and Youngman Streets in Kingaroy. Members meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month to share their work with other members and take part in writing and word exercises. Swimming For Fitness - Blackbutt
The South Burnett Regional Council's new Swimming For Fitness program (for adults) will be held between 10:00am and 11:00am this morning at the Blackbutt Swimming Pool at the corner of Sutton and Margaret Streets, Blackbutt. This program is run by a local swimming coach and is open to adults of all fitness and ability levels. It aims to teach new ways to become physically active and how to stay active for life. If you're coming along, bring your swimming togs, a towel, sun protection and (if applicable) medication. Session fees are $5 if you're in full-time employment, or $2.50 if you're not. More details? Lift For Life Session - Blackbutt
The South Burnett Regional Council's Healthy Communities program will be holding a gold coin donation "Lift For Life" strength training program at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 1:00pm to 2:00pm this afternoon. This new program - which offers a six-month, low cost course in strength training for people of all ages and fitness levels - will help prevent and/or manage Type 2 diabetes and other chronic health conditions. Lift For Life sessions are held twice-weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays and if you plan to attend you should bring comfortable shoes, a towel, a water bottle and (if applicable) medication. Heartmoves Exercise Session - Blackbutt
A gold coin donation Heartmoves exercise session led by a qualified instructor will be held at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt between 2:00pm and 3:00pm this afternoon. The Heartmoves exercise program is jointly sponsored by the Heart Foundation and the South Burnett Regional Council's Healthy Communities program. The South Burnett branch of Narcotics Anonymous wil be holding its regulat weekly meeting at 48 Alford Street in Kingaroy from 7:30pm to 8:30pm tonight. Narcotics Anonymous is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem.
